| A record September for MDX sales (beating 2004) and 34% over last September sales of 4,002. Glad I could add to the stat! :D |

:7: Nice to know.
.... Only thing is, I'll be lucky to see one of them on the freeway once a week. For now I'm the lonely Blue Steel out here.

No wonder I see more MDX (2nd gen) on road everyday. I recently spotted 2 new MDX in my community.
I guess, More MDX = Less Uniqueness
P.S. I am sick and tired of seeing more RX on road these days. |

My countryhouse is located in the heart of SUV central (Westport, CT), and on any given weekend I see pretty much every type/brand of SUV/CUV known to mankind. From rusting Isuzu Troopers and Ford Bronco IIs to supercharged Benz G55s and Porsche Cayenne Turbo S's, we've got 'em. What's more, it seems that whenever a car is released in the marketplace -- irrespective of price or type -- I see ten of 'em on the road out there five minutes later. Given how SUV-happy southern CT is, I figured the new MDX would be no different, but thus far the new MDX has been a rare bird indeed.
Until this past weekend, that is.
I don't know if these new sales figures have anything to do with it, but I counted no fewer than five 2nd gens on Sunday alone (two bases and three Tech/Ents). It was just a matter of time before the word got out, I suppose...
Regards,
Adam |

Well here in the Windy City, I still haven't noticed all that many of them yet. When I see them, since they are still so uncommon, it's kind of nice. I imagine that will change when there are a lot of them out there.
Hopefully when the numbers increase, my color (Dark Cherry) will still be uncommon. Although on the website and commercials it seems that it is now their poster color...oh well:rolleyes: |

| I live in a very small town; Ridgecrest, 150 miles north of Los Angeles; where the population of 25K people. There are a lot of luxury cars and SUVs in town but I am the only one whose own the 2nd generation MDX (never seen the second one). Whenever I am on the road, everyone just looking at me, I mean my X. |

| It feels like back in the day in 01-02 down here in southern Maryland when I had the only 1st Gen MDX. I think I've only seen 2 other ones around but there are plenty of 1st Gen's here now. |

357 RLs for September. That's not a typo. MB sold 5,000 E class and BMW sold 4,000 5 series in September. |

| Acura needs to put a V8 in that RL for people to take the car seriously... |

| That's not an unexpected percent increase. The 2007 MDX was not readily available until Oct/Nov 2007 so Sept's 34% increase is comparing the second year of a new model to the outgoing leftover 2006's plus the few 2007's (which people were waiting to buy) that were available. I am surprised that the percentage was not higher. The highest sales of the new model happened in Nov (6,227) and Dec (6,086) of 2006. It does make sense that the Sept sales peaked in 2004 for the 1st gen. MDX. 2004 was the first year that production could meet demand and there were a lot more competing vehicles. The 2005 and 2006 model years offered substantial incentives at the end of the selling years because of the aging design and increasing competition. |

Good points JL_SS.
Isn't this the first year that the new model was even available in Sept? I remember most years the new model did not show up until October. |

The cost is the main reason. People will not pay the same money for an Acura as they would spend on a BMW or Mercedes. |
