My remote for the DVD only works from the centre seat location, if I'm on the right or left seat it does not work unless I put it directly under the middle seat. It should have better range shouldn't it.
This can't be normal can it. In this case I'm just better off leaving it hooked to it's base and controlling it from there. |

While I've only had the occasion to use the RES once (this past Sunday, in fact), I did find that the remote can be sensitive to position. True, I didn't have much trouble using from the driver's side rear seat, there were a couple of times that I had to hit a button more than once before it would register with the system. I understand why the headphones have a somewhat restricted range of operation (so they can't be used in the front seat by the driver), but the remote shouldn't be similarly constrained, IMO. I wonder how well it works from the 3rd row?

| By any chance was the remote pointed at either sensors next to the RES display? You have to use it like you are reading a book and not like pointing a tv remote. Same thing goes for the wireless headphones. They are infrared devices rather than radio frequency so it is important that they are in line of sight of the sensors in the ceiling. That's why the headphones will not work in the front row and will also cut out if you turn your head and look directly out the side windows. |
