I'm in the market for a SUV has anyone drove the new Buick? I drove the MDX today- very nice. I drove a 2006 and 2008. The 2008 a tad bit smoother.

Yeah, there is 10-20 pages on this one already... feel free to rehash it :)

Good luck on your venture, I personally don't like the buick, except for the outside.

I went by and looked at the Buick a few days ago. Did not drive it. Everything inside looked very nice. I particularly liked the front seat area.

The Enclave has the same problems in the cargo space as the MDX. There is 48" between the wheel wells but not at the rear hatch. This limits what can be carried. Just inside the hatch the Enclave is also more narrow than the MDX.

The below floor storage tray is a little larger in the Enclave, but neither is large enough to have any real utility.

I did not really like the outside look of the Enclave, especially the rear end. Of course I also do not like the same thing about the new MDX.

I guess I should take the time to drive an Enclave just to see what it is like.

'As much as I have always thought the cross between the pickup truch and SUV to be so weird I may have to seriously look at one of those for my next vehicle.

It's funny how part of the OP's name ends with "CIVIC"... you would think he/she a Honda fan?

Buick vs Acura? LOL, I would buy Acura/Honda any make any model any day all over & over again before setting foot in any Buick. Nuff said?

My wife had a Buick Roadmaster wagon for 10 years before she got her current Cadillac.

That Buick never has one monent of trouble the whole time she had it. She did not want to get rid of it but I insisted that a 10 year old vehicle was just not what she needed. Before that she also had a 1991 Roadmaster and we got rid of that to buy the last of the Roasmaster series.

Not a think wrong with Buicks. They are good cars. I just did not like the layout of what I saw on the Enclave.

I just hope that this MDX turns out to be as trouble free as the Buicks I have owned. So far so good!!

Enclave same a Saturn's SUV, and I think the Saturn has received better reviews, and is cheaper. My problem with the Acura is the dealer, not the car. My MDX has had some minor irritants, nothing more. It's when the dealer tried to repair them that they tured major, like destroying my engine during the warranty replacement of the water pump. I've gotta add, however, that my son's experience with his Pontiac at one Pontiac/Buic dealer have also been abyssmal. This was at his purchasing dealer. A local Pontiac dealer has, so far, proved satisfactory. Guess there's good and bad in everything.

Same cake, different icing.

The cars share the same frame and mechanics, but the interior of the Buick does have nicer materials than the Saturn, or the GMC version.

That being said, it is still hampered by the lack luster engine.

Did your Roadmaster have the panelling on the side? I remember those things, they were huge.

My local Chevy dealer has been great. They fix everything I bring my truck in for. I just wish I wasn't bringing it in every two weeks ..............:( .

Yes to paneling.

They really were not that big. Just big in comparrison to what is being sold as full size vehicle these days. The MDX is actually 6 inches wider, though not as long. Even though the MDX is wider I could carry a full sheet of plywood in the Buick and I cannot in the MDX because of poor rear hatch design.

I didn't get to drive the Enclave. The dealership is only had one and it was sold. It is rare that a GM product is in such demand. I remember when I last was looking at a GM product, GTO, same deal could not get to drive one as they were in a big demand, we know what happened here. I drive a M5 and I would not change.

My wife has a Honda Odyssey and it is coming off lease. So far the Acura is the best choice for a replacement.

Go drive the GMC model, it is the same other than the interior. These are hot cars, for what they are. They are more affordable than most luxury SUVs, but you pay for that in power, among other subjective stylings.

If someone can't afford the Acura, Lexus, BMW, etc, this is a suitable alternative.
