| Just noticed this last weekend when I washed the MDX that someone hit the passenger side. But somehow they were low enough to hit the side steps. There is a noticeable indentation and some red paint. Just think if I did not have the side steps or had the running boards. It would of been worse. So maybe they are worth the money spent. |

As discussed in several previous threads, it's a crapshoot whether or not the side steps or running boards will protect your vehicle. Just too large a variety of door sizes and shapes out there.
In your case, though, I'm glad that you were protected. It does sound like it would have been an ugly dent in your side and not a cheap one to fix! |

| Pretty bad if someone swings a door hard enough to dent a stainless steel tube. What morons! |

Holy cow! I can't believe that. I'm glad your steps provided some protection. I think if I'd found that while washing my 'DX I'd have gone ballistic! |

Yeah, what are you going to do? (Rhetorical question). I was a little upset but I was glad that it was the step sides and not the door. I never thought of the side steps as protectors but as a semi useful add-on. The MDX is not tall enough to need them. I had a 4x4 Dodge Ram, now I used the side steps all the time.
I was surprised to see the large indentation. It has to be more than someone opening a door. |
