I have an Acura certified '02 MDX with extended warranty. I own this vehicle for last two and half years with 56000 miles on it. For last couple months it has started showing me a peculiar problem which I am trying to describe the best I can.
At slow speed, for example, starting from a stop or on a highway delay situation where the vehicle is moving at 10-20 mph, sometimes it does not accelerate. By pressing the gas pedal it only increases the engine rev to 5000 to 6000 rpm but no power is transferred. Let me tell you, this is a scary situation. Imagine what happens when you want to a left turn in New York city and you see that you are not moving as expected in front of the oncoming traffic!!
I took the car to the dealer two times. They told me that the problem is not reproducible. What a pain!! In fact once the dealer kept the truck for two days and drove 100+ miles and they could not find anything.
In this situation I don't intend to drive this truck. It is a safety issue now. Again, the problem is completely intermittant. I am not sure when it is going to happen next time.
Please help. |
