I am calling for a boycott of Canadian Acura and Honda products to protest this anti free trade gouging of consumers in Canada. There is no other reason for these price differentials between USA and Canada. A new 2008 MDX Tech/Entertainment Package is lower by $15,000 in the USA (that is almost 25% of the value of the vehicle!!). Until we consumers band together and force the prices down, they will never come down no matter what they say about a gradual decrease. That is bull crap, they intend to gouge us as long as we let them.
So if you are thinking about buying a new Acura or Honda, put off your purchase or go buy in the US. There are ways around their protectionist policies in the US, so seek those out and go buy south of the border. Until we vote with our feet, we will be paying through the nose to fatten Honda Canada's back accounts.

As of next week here the ACURA dealer is increasing his labour rate by 20 % to $ 129 / hr. Acura Canada head office told them their type 1-2-3 service is too cheap here and prices must be the same across the country for all services done.Too many times customers from other areas come here to get work done and save $$$.
Acura is sticking to its " guns " but boy is it costing them !! |
