I have an 02 MDX. The engine cuts out when the car is still cold - may die out up to 5 or 6 times when I put it in gear. Once it warms up, it is fine.
Had dealer and local mechanic both diagnose as bad fuel injectors. Had them replaced by local guy , problem still exists, and have brought it back several times for them to fix. They have tried testing the sensors, but no luck so far. Any ideas? |

| Run a can of seafoam through the cars system, also check the battery on the car. Do you use premium fuel? Lastly, if you are under warranty, have the dealer preform an Idle Relearn Procedure, If not, you can do this youself. Disconnect the battery (need radio and nav security codes) and lave disconnected for 15-20 minutes. Then put back in and run the motor at 3000 RPM for 10 minutes, do not turn on the A/C, heater or radio or any other accesorries, including headlights. Also do not include the time that the fans run in the motor compartment. I will post back with the offical instructions provided by acura to make sure the steps are right. |

Yes I do use premium gas all the time, and the car is now out of warranty.
Will try the seafoam, but with the injectors replaced - should this have accomplished the same? Though not too familiar with the product.
Will look for the confirmation that the steps to idle re-learn are posted and will give it a try. |

| Ran the seafoam through - no change on the engine cutting out problem although my engine check & VTM lights are no longer on. |

Did you have the computer scanned? What codes did they get? Sounds like it could be a IAC motor which is a very inexpensive repair.
Get the codes for more help. |

So #2, #3 & #4 cyclinder misfires. These can be caused my many things including injectors.
Possible causes is ignition coils, egr valve, injectors, spark plugs, maf sensor, oxygen sensors, etc.
My guess it's the maf sensor, but is only a guess though. |

| Get a valve adjustment done after the Seafoam. Could have valves too tight, causes hard starting and rough idle. |

Don't throw money in it. Take it to somebody reputable that can properly diagnose it. Now that I think about it. A failed fuel pressure regulator can cause hard starting in the morning too.
Either way have someone properly diagnose it. |
