'07 MDX here,
and trying to find out when the new redesigned music link is coming out. I was told sometime in Nov. but I am skeptical at this point. Has anyone heard anything? |

This was a dealer-installed option that was available when the 2007s were initially released which allowed you to connect your iPod to the X's stereo and control your music through the audio headunit or steering wheel controls. It also charged your iPod.
The problem with this option was the half-assed way that it went about its business (didn't display music tracks, inscrutable controls, limited playback options...). While I never had the (dis)pleasure of using one, if you do a search on this forum, you should find some comments about it. Ideally, a factory-backed, dealer-installed option should use the navi interface and jogdial controller, but I guess that was asking too much.
As it stands, I use the RCA jacks to play my iPod through the stereo. It sounds great, but considering the amount of tech loaded into these things, a fully-functioning iPod connection kit is a bit overdue. If Acura doesn't update this thing soon, I might go for the Harmon Kardon kit.
