Got them from Tirerack. Came within a week. Amazing...
HAd some vibration issues with the stock rims, and didn't want to bother with balancing anymore after trying like three times.
So, these babies had to come earlier than i thought

What do you think?
Unfortunately, they don't fill the whole fender width since Tirerack stuffs tend to get conservative. but, look ok from side. yea?
dkianc
Amazing. Are they 18' or 20' ? Did you buy TPMs sensors for those rims?
midnightMDX
wow, they look real good!
vduc
They look great!

openlomi
20", and yes i did get the TPMs. Working perfectly.
one thing i regret is that i should've got like 275 width. i got 255 which are same as the stock.
TomCrane
what is the width and offset of those

what wheels are they ?

they look like

O.Z. Palladio ST

if thats the case .. you went with a 255 tire on a 9.5" width wheel ? def seems like you should have gone wider .. wierd that tire rack would recommend that

acura recommends 275's on the optional 19x8.5 wheels .. i would def have gone 275 on those 9.5s.. prolly could have gone wider

wheels look killer though
openlomi
yea, OZ Palladio ST. youright.

that's what i was saying. tirerack is mad conservative. that's why i'm running 255 on 9.5" width...:(
TomCrane
im looking at the recommended with of wheels for a 255" tire .. and its 8-9.5"

so while they will work with the 20" .. thats actually stretching the limits of that particular tire size ...

i def find it odd that tire rack would do that ...lik e i said you EASILY could have gone with a 275 width tire.. maybe even wider...

those must offer no rim protection at all huh ? .. can you take a close up of the wheels.. i want to see how the sidewall of the tire looks against the rim
Advertisement
openlomi
hahaha, yea, youright again mang~
i'm having no rims protection around the lip...:(
in fact, i got my first ding on the lip last week. tiny thou.

I'll try to post upclose pics asap.

on the other hand, my upcoming moddings are (just thinking about them...)
nav to tv conversion switch
inner bumper painting
???
TomCrane
well :) just drive the tires till they run out and get some wider ones .. thats all :)

how much did the setup cost you ?
TomCrane
ive got both of these kicking around the house ... not sure which to use lol - the pics of the chrome ones arent the greatest .. but ill have more updated pics when i actually get the wheels (should be here friday- center caps are there too just not on the wheels in the pics)

techm8n
You should have gone with 275/40-20 to fill out the rims. But they still look good. Are you considering adding the Body Side Molding?

openlomi
actually, i'm done with adding accessories. i've done much already.
Plus i try to keep adding less plastic as possible on my car now. in that sense, that two tone color bumper is breaking my heart every time i look at it. want to paint them SSSSO BADDDDDD!
TomCrane
you should order an extra set of the front and rear pieces and have them painted

you can get them from Tim fairly cheaply and painting them should only cost a couple hundred bucks (2-300)

i agree with you that the unpainted plastics really are a downer on the the MDX ..they look terrible on the light and dark colors
eujinc
Awesome. Definitely looks sharper than the factory 19"s.

Great looking rims!!!!!!! I think these rims look very good on the 2nd generation MDX.

BTW, r u missing a crossbar in the front? I only see one crossbar??
rocketman
Never mind. I see in the first pic you have the two crossbars together in the back.

I may color match the bumpers too. Check out jjjacek's painted bumpers. Looks nice and clean.

Thanks for posting the pics! And very nice choice of rims--the ones you chose made it to my short list--though I have decided on a different rim. I'm days away from ordering new 20" rims and I have been debating between 255/45/20's and 275/45/20's tires and your pics help me to decide, I am going with the 275/45/20's with an 8.5" wide rim.

By the way, when I double click on any of your pictures your photo album comes up with all the pictures you took of your MDX.

275/45-20 are too tall, go with 275/40-20. These are closer in diameter with the OEM 18s.

Actually, if you go to Tire Rack and look under tire specs and compare the two sizes you will find that he 255/45/20 tire is generally closer to the stock height than the 275/40/20.

From my research, I found that the stock Bridgestone is 29.2" tall while the average height of the available 255/45/20 tires is right at 29.0" tall and the average height of the available 275/40/20 tires is right at 28.75" tall. I know there are several variables that affect all of this and we're probably splitting hairs--not that I have any hair to split mind you! :D

The 275/45/20 Yokohama tire I have selected is 29.9" tall and frankly I am not concerned with the additional tire height. In fact, I think the additional height will help to fill out the wheel well.

Just my two cents. . .

JTDroze, please post pics after you have installed your wheels. Thanks!
JTDroze
I was using the tire and wheel calculator and may have discovered another issue. The 20" wheel I selected has an offset of 34 (only offset available), if I do in fact go with 275/45/20's this combination will push the tire out 21 mm or 0.8 inchs--IMHO that's a bunch.

After looking at openlomi's pictures again and again, I am not completely certain I'm digging the look of less sidewall on this vehicle. Rethinking new 18 inch rims or perhaps 19's!!

You are correct that 255/45-20 is closest to the OEM 18s in diameter.

But I was comparing 275/45-20 (+ .7") vs 275/40-20 (- .38").

Oops, I think I have a bunch of split ends on my hair. :D

255/55-18 = 29.04" height
275/45-19 = 28.74" height
255/45-20 = 29.03" height
275/40-20 = 28.66" height
275/45-20 = 29.74" height
