Hello,

Currently looking to get a tech+ent 08 MDX. Best price so far is $800 over invoice + $598 dealer fee.. I'm thinking I can do better... This is in the central florida area..

It puts the OTD price at $46.7k..

Thanks for any input.

1.5 hours away?

Consider yourself lucky. I only have one Acura dealer in the entire state and they know it!!!

No MDX for me today. Got kicked out of the dealership.. Long story but basically I was asking that the dealer give me something in writing which says that there will be *no* prepayment penalty on the loan.. The contract says that there *may* be one. I told the finance guy I think we are done and he escorted us out of his office.. Never had that happen to me before..

Owell... Anyone have the number for acura of north america? :-/

I just got my 2008 w/ Tech and Ent yesterday for 43k OTD here in California.

Had to get it from another dealer to get my color (Sterling) and so I got wheel locks, all-season mats and cargo mat thrown in as well.

That is a very good price. Given that the invoice on the vehicle is 42,400.. So.. OTD means tax, tag, title?

Great Price!!

Finally got one, too!
Trying to learn how to operate all the amenities!!!
It's a large learning curve coming from a 2002 MDX...., but, it's fun!

Whoa, where did you get that price? The best price I have is $43.2K, not OTD.

BTW, I'm in Danville, so I'd appreciate the name of the dealership as soon as possible (have an appt. with a dealer on Friday)

TIA

You guys really know how to negotiate, I live in Southern California, Orange County to be more precise... which dealers have you guys been getting these great deals at!!!!

A lot of it depends on your local market. A lot of dealers are very tight on Tech/Ent cars right now so that might be part of it.

Right now we're sold out of them and have only a handful coming in that aren't spoken for as an example so I know the new car guys don't have a lot of incentive to heavily discount them. That being said $800 over should be pretty easy to do in most parts of the country.

Here is what I was quoted. I know there is a hold back that Acura gives the dealers at the end of the qtr, but the thing I am having a hard time with is the admin fee. Normally this is money that goes straight to the owner to finance a vaction or girlfriend.

Invoice: $42,797

MSRP 46,610

Discount 3,010

Your price: 43,600

NC tax 1,308

Admin/Doc fee 398

New tag 69

Total $45,375

That's not a bad price, figure $1200 over invoice when you include the admin fee. Best bet is to look at the Out The Door price for comparison shopping.

Dealers generally don't waive the admin fees, in most states if they waive it on one deal and the DMV catches them they have to refund said admin fee to everyone they ever charged it to.

In NY we're capped at $45 regardless.

That being said, Tech/Ents are in very tight supply right now, I've heard of higher quotes by far in my market which is usually the most competitive.

The admin fee is a bogus charge in my opinion.

I've got quotes from two local dealerships on Sport+Ent (I'm in the South San Francisco bay area). One was $500 over invoice, the other was for $1000 over invoice, period.

I am looking to purchase my first Acura MDX (Tech/Ent). I have researched prices and how found one inconsistency. KBB, NADA, Yahoo and Edmunds all list the invoice as 41683 + 715 Destination Charge for a total invoice of 42398. I purchased the Consumer Reports New Car Pricing report and it list the invoice at 40968 + 715 destination for a total invoice of 41638. Does anyone know which is correct? Also, what is the dealer admin fee? Is this the same as the destination charge? The dealer has yet to mention this. Thank you in advance for any help!

I am looking to join the MDX family and purchase my first Acura. I am wondering if anyone knows if they ended up with a significant benefit by purchasing at the end of the month versus the early or mid-month. Edmunds.com states that the current financing goes through 4/30, and I have heard a rumor that Honda/Acura comes out with their new incentives on 4/1. Does anyone have any insight into this and/or have any recommendations?

One of the local dealerships near me just offered me $1,000 below invoice on a Sport+Ent that he had sitting on the lot for a while. It costs dealers money to have the cars sitting on their lot so they're going to discount them the longer they have been around. If you're lucky and they have one with the color/equipment level in stock that you want then your best price is most likely going to be at the end of the month. Of course, then you're running the risk that someone else will come and buy it!

$500 or even $1,000 is not that much money in the grand scheme of things over three-six years or however long you plan on keeping the truck. Especially if you're particular about the color combination like I am, I would personally just go grab the one you want if you find it for a decent price around invoice.

I just bought one in SF Bay Area. Silver/Tau Tech/Ent cost me 1100 below invoice with free locks.

I think I did alright, but can not compare to these got for 43500 OTD.
