So I go into the Acura dealership today, and I ask what the difference from the Canadian MDX and the US MDX is, and they say that they can't fix the Navigation because the US runs on a different GPS system than the Canadian one, is this legit? It doesn't sound like it.
I am going to be importing a 07 Sport with Entertainment over into Canada, and I was wondering if there would be any problems? |

I'm gonna have to call BS on this one. For starters, I drove to Montreal over the summer and my U.S. nav disc worked just fine. Sure, it's only good for about 100mi into Canada, but the "GPS system" didn't have any trouble locating my X and pointing me in the right direction. Next, it's a DVD-based system, so all you need to do is replace the U.S. disc with the Canadian one and you're be good to go.

Who would want to go more than 100 miles from the US/Canadian border. The GPS doesn't work any further north before it would freeze to death. Same reason Alaska is not supported!

GPS is a global system, not a national one. As noted, you simply need different map disks.
Now, you may have other problems importing the car into Canada, such as having an MPH display instead of KMH, but I know over on the Volvo forum I moderate people have successfully done the import into Canada. |

| The MPH is fine, because under the MP/H is the KM/H. So it should be fine. |

| Hmmmm ... when I picked up my 08 MDX in September here in Calgary, I received a Canadian DVD and a US DVD. Do you guys down south not get both DVD's? I guess they assume that Canadians all want to travel to the US, but Americans don't want to travel to Canada? :confused: |
