Hi I'm new to this forum and interested in getting a 04 MDX.
Found a CPO at a local dealer, is there anything I should be paying attention to?
Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Other than features/options and trim level, its really up to what you want. The 04 is pretty solid. Just make sure you give the car a good look around. Anything way out of line should be fixed for free before buying. CPO doesnt mean its perfect. Got any information on what you are looking at, or maybe the particular dealer?

I'm looking for one with Nav, RES would be a plus.
found a pretty good deal here in NJ.
is there any re-call or "weak" point for the 04 model?

Anyone know how much does a pair of running board cost? the one I'm looking at doesn't have them

Running boards run about $450-480 depending on which style. You might get lucky seeing some used ones for sale.

You can also get them from Tim.

Yea, mine came with running boards, which isnt very common to find. You might want to try negotiating for the running boards and hope for a discount or free. You have the buying power.

I was searching the CPO on the ACura site and there was a dealership on Long Island that had an 04 with NAV & RES with mid 40k for mileage and they were asking $23,995. I just bought an 04 CPO yesterday her in Albany with NAVI with 64,500 for $22,995 from North East Acura they also threw in an aftermarket RES including installation. Best experience I have ever had buying a car. Volvo dealership 1/4 mile away tried to rip me off on an 04 XC90. Stopped in to look at it and found it in the body shop having bondo work done on it. Stick with Acura.

Congrats on your purchase!!!

I've had my 04 since Feb 2004, bought new. Absolutely no problems, and I'm approaching 44K miles now.

Did have the center diff fluid changed earlier than the owner's manual recommended (30K miles IIRC), at around 15 K miles.

Apparently it was a factory recommended operation, no charge to me. (The Pohanka Acura Service Dept in Chantilly, VA absolutely ROCKS!!! Just don't let them "wash" your car. ;-) )

You will be happy with an 04, I'm sure!
