My car needs a jump 2 consecutive weekends after not driving it from 1 weekend to another. I brough it to the dealer and they said "Yeah, it's a pretty long time and it's cold, so that happends"

wtf...the battery dies after a week not driving the car seem to be quite unacceptable. I'll have to further research before flaming at them.
I did some interior lights change, parking light changing just like many other users from this forum...I am not sure if this affecting the problem.
Have anyone experienced this problem and is there a solution?
Thanks in advance for any input fellas. |

There are two TSB's out for dying batteries. One is for a faulty door lock switch. The other is for an open tailgate, due to a faulty latch.

If nothing is on to draw power from the battery, it should last several months just sitting.
How old is the battery? How many times has it been completely discharged? Batteries in automobiles are starting batteries. They are not designed for multiple deep cycles.

| My car is only 3.5k miles, so the battery has never been charged. |

You are aware that your battery is charged every time you drive the car, right?
What the poster was saying above is that when your battery completely discharges (needing a jump) more than once, it becomes weaker and prone to discharging rapidly when not charged (driven) regularly. Also, it looses peak (Cold Cranking Amps) power.
Get the dealer to replace your battery and see if that helps. Some are just crappy.
Also, check the TSB's listed above! |

| I print out the 2 reason for battery draining from TBS and bring it to them this weekend to see what happen. |

| I too have a faulty door switch. Light stays on when door closes. Didn't even realize that for nearly 2 weeks after came back from vacation. Battery was still good after that 2 weeks of power draining door light. I'd say you have a bad case of defective battery or electrical short somewhere internally. Replacing the battery would be the first ideal step. Good luck! Keep us posted. |

LionSpeed- I still haven't gone to the dealer the past 2 weeks because I have used my car more often and have been busy. However, I found this morning that the battery is dead again, going to the dealer tomorrow morning.
Did you fix your problem? How long does it take for them to investigate into the problem and fix it? How much does it cost you?
Thanks in advance. |

I brough my car to the dealer over this weekend and asked them to check the door switch problem as the bulletin board mentioned. They said that my VIN does not fall under that catagory. So they changed the battery, also will order some radio party and perform software update since my car has a poping noise when turn on the ignition. They said that it can drain the battery from the radio...
so i'll have to pay another visit after they order the part...awaiting for them to call regarding the part. |

| I don't drive my car every day. After a week it doesn't start. I bought a wall charger to compensate. I haven't gone in for my first service but when I do, I will complain about this. This happened to me with another vehicle. Some batteries just have a bad cell. It happens. |

It is true that a few new batteries will be defective (bad cells, etc.). The dealers have testers that can determine the condition of the battery. However, it is in no way normal that a battery should die after sitting from one weekend to the next.
I park my car at the airport for weeks on end (22 days the longest), and it has always fired up, regardless of the temperature (-14F the coldest).
The dealer really needs to get involved. |

OK, I think we're a little mis-understood here. I'll start over. I have a fautly DRIVER's door light. Light stay on ALL the time even when door is closed. Then I took a TWO weeks vacation & came back in time to find out the light was on all that time. The car started up fine, battery was still in good shape. Didn't feel nor hear any different to the starter (cranking power) than the first day.
.... Door faulty light fixture was fixed shortly right after. Door fixed by myself. For the record, my battery was never bad. |
