I have previously posted about not being able to find a sport/ent in a steel blue /taupe. The dealer again says that they are unable to locate or have built. A different dealer matched the originals price, 2% over invoice and 25-26k for my 2005 Touring sight unseen. Thinking that they might have a different trade group, they also could not locate but said it could be ordered with a deposit. I then relayed that their competitor tried to order but it was kicked out. The sales manager called the district manager and confirmed that it would be highly unlikely that Acura would build such a combo since it is not a popular black/white/grey color and sports comprise a very small percent of builds. No such vehicle exists east of the Mississippi., maybe one in CA., I live in Cleveland
So the dealer calls and says that a tech/ent in blue/taupe is inbound.
age old question: Tech vs Sport.
I like the look of the perf. leather and idea of the sport suspension, wheels/tires and lights upgrade. wife wants that color only, and also likes the perf leather on current MDX, doesn't think she would notice suspension difference compared to current.

How about a tech & format the outside to look like SPORT?

Well, that's one way to go. True, your wife isn't going to get her perforated leather seats (they're nice, but not a dealbreaker, IMO), and you're not going to get your active dampers and self-leveling HIDs, but at least you'll get your wheels... Of course you're gonna have to locate a set of Sport wheels first (I wonder how much they are from Acura). If this is the only color combo your wife will accept, then I suppose this is your only option.
I still think it's ridiculous that Acura won't build you the car you want. Fine, so it's a rare combination, but is it that hard for them to special order it? I mean, it's money in the bank since you're pretty much guaranteed to buy it. But hey, what do I know?

| I have the Tech/Ent package and I have no regrets at all. The suspension works great, it corners great, it's smooth over bumpy roads, etc. Unless your wife is some kind of performance enthusiast who feels a 3 row seat SUV needs active dampners, she will probably never know the difference. |

As much as I hate to say it, I'm forced to agree with this sentiment. While I do feel that three row SUVs need active dampers (the bigger and heavier the vehicle, the more it needs a buttoned down suspension IMO), somehow I seriously doubt it makes an ounce of difference to your wife. I'll say it again, if Steel Blue/Taupe is the only color combination she'll accept, then it looks to me like your choice has been made.
