P0155 Front Air/Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor (Bank 2, Sensor 1) Heater Circuit Malfunction.
What does this mean in english. What is bank 2?
highcountrymdx
Bank 2 are the front 3 cylinders. Each bank of cylinders have two sensors that monitor O2 status in the exhaust stream, which indicates the air/fuel ratio. Sensor 1 has a heater that warms the sensor quickly on a cold engine. The faster the O2 levels can be brought up to temperature, the quicker the air/fuel ratio can be accurately regulated by the PCM. Apparently there is something wrong in the heater circuit.

According to the 2003/2004 maintenance manual, there are several components to troubleshoot. These include:
1. the fuse (No. 9 [15A] in the underhood fuse box - see owner's manual)
2. relay
3. a/f sensor wiring
4. PCM wiring, and,
5. a/f sensor

There are 31 troubleshooting steps, taking up 5 pages for this fault. Is there a dealer nearby?

Do you think it's the 2 upper or 2 lower ones that I should look at? I believe the 2 uppers have 5 wires and the 2 lowers have 4 wires? Is this correct. You said bank 2 is the front sensor. Did you mean front upper or front lower. By front I mean radiator side. Thanks

I would assume that the front bank is the bank of cylinders towards the front of the car. As far as the wires, etc, I wouldn't hazard a guess. With a troubleshooting guide that extends 5 pages, and 31 steps, it's way past me.

So in your opinion, you believe I have a bad 02 sensor. Which one upper front or back (firewall)? Are they the same kind? I mean will one 02 sensor fit or work right at either location? Thanks for your help.

Again, the troubleshooting steps are exhaustive, and cover all components. It may or may not be a bad sensor heater. It may be something as simple as the wiring, relay or fuse. I'm sure the dealer or indy repair shop can isolate the problem pronto. I'd just be guessing.

Keep us posted.

Ok update....
I replaced bank 2 sensor 1 with new 02 sensor from auto zone $145. It's strange because the one I took off had 5 wires and the one I replaced it with had 5 wires, but when I ordered it is says it's a 4 wire ?? Weird !! But the problem now is I get this code about 1 day later: P2A00 I know this is what the book says about it- HO2S Circuit Closed Loop (CL) Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1 (PCM)
What does it mean in simple terms that I can understand. Where is pcm located? Thanks again

The maintenance manual describes the P2A00 code as, "Rear Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 1) Circuit Range/Performance Problem."

The troubleshooting procedure requires the Honda HDS test device to fully troubleshoot the code. The sensor indicated is the top sensor attached to the rear engine mounted catalytic converter (torque to 33 lbf/ft).

Because the troubleshooting procedures monitors the performance of the emissions control system during a test drive with the HDS continuously hooked up, that code may only indicate a performance problem, not a A/F sensor fault. It appears that, without a HDS, just replacing the A/F sensor would be taking a shot in the dark.

What about the pcm. Do you think I need to worry about it?
highcountrymdx
The pcm is the 'power control module'. It's the master computer for the powertrain, but certainly not the only one. To replace it would cost big bucks.

At some point, wouldn't it be more cost effective to take your car to the dealer? Seems like you've been fighting it for, maybe, too long.
