| My 02 is/was the same way. It would sometimes come on. I found lightly pounding the letters from the left side would make them turn on. I did that for a couple of months whenever it went out and now it has stayed on without intervention for about 6 months. I think there's probably a weak wire in there or something that gets loose after time. I don't think it's a fuse. |

Hello,
I got the same problem on my 01 MDX for a while and finally found the way to replace the burned out bulb. Part # 35505-692-003 and costs about $5.00
The steps are:
1. Use a small screwdriver to remove the shiny plastic on top ot the gear shift lever.
2. You will see a black cover 3 x 4 with 4 small tabs at each corners, 2 at each sides.
3. Use the small screwdriver to push each tab to lift the black cover one at a time to remove it.
4. Remove the P-R-N-D-1-2 plastic cover to see the bulb.
5. Remove the burned out bulb.
6. Replace with the new bulb and turn the light on to make sure the light is on in that shift lever.
7. Put the cover back in reverse order.
Good luck.
