You'll find a pic on the Acura website. Click gallery, then click select a color. You can get a pretty good idea of how it looks like there.

Funny seeing the most popular colors, I have a formal black (brother-in-laws) and nimbus grey (wifes) at my house, of course I wanted aspen white with the bordeaux interior but was overruled.

Let me guess which color you chose...

FWIW, I chose silver because it's the easiest to maintain (at least in my experience). Personally, Nimbus Grey (dull and boring) is my favorite color, but since all my cars have been silver/black, I figured why mess with a good thing?

Billet silver totally rocks on the MDX! My last 3 BMW's have all been silver. I think the MDX looks the best in silver. But then again the MDX hasn't been Bangled. :2:

Only having a bit of fun, all colors have good features and of course I picked billet silver with ebony interior. My second choice would have been the blue but it looked a little feminine for my tastes, very good looking though.

PS, has anyone seen or purchased the blue MDX, I was curious as to how they liked it and what interior choice did they get? Blue with Ebony interior was second choice but I bought Silver with Ebony interior Elite (Canada fully loaded version) and having it delivered on Friday.

For years now I really don't care for the colors Honda/Acura chooses.

Some of the colors look far better in pictures then they actually are.

Take for instance the Aberdeen Green, in the pic's we saw we loved it but when we walked up to one, we hated it, just too drab for us.

The lighting is all so important, when taking pic's you can make a boring color look great and that's exactly what they did with the green.

The steel blue is that way too but isn't as far off as the green is.

Here is my wifes and I like it far better in the pic's too. Still hate the lighter color bumper panel too, thought maybe it would grow on me, nope, one of these days the darker ones are going on.

Other companies have some really nice colors (Subaru, Dodge) the guys at Honda/Acura must be wearing some color inhancing sunglasses when choosing the colors. :2:

Interesting to come back to this poll after a while and see my Silver in 3rd place.

I will be the first to admit it was not my first choice. I was really leaning toward Steel Blue or Black Cherry, but CPO availability is what it is.

Silver, in the end, is not a bad color for someone who goes off road every day, though!!!

I wish ! :D

No, my wife just got the steel blue one, I was just showing that the Aberdeen indeed looks nicer in pictures.

We both were gun ho on the Aberdeen and she still was at the dealership till I kept staring at the steel blue in the showroom and told her she was making a big mistake, glad she finally came to her senses.

If it was me though, I would have picked the silver like Needsdeca did, because that color hides the dirt and scratches very well and if you keep a vehicle as long as we do, which is 10-15 years, a light color is the way to go.

She had a black CRX at one time, while black looks so nice, I'd get upset because in a few hours you would see dust on it after washing, a real pain to keep nice, never again, unless of course it is bought as a none daily driver and there for will stay clean much longer.

I couldn't agree more. Silver wasn't necessarily my favorite color for the X (Nimbus Gray was, followed by Formal Black), but given that I keep my cars on average 10 years, this was really my only choice. Case in point, my "Brilliant Silver" '97 E420 still looks new in spite of the fact that I only waxed it twice in its lifetime. Yes, if you get up close and personal you'll see that she didn't just roll off of the assembly line, but all things considered, she looks great. I'm praying for the same with the X, since I absolutely refuse to get anal about car care (I'm lazy). That's also why I went for a black interior, but that belongs in another thread...

Adam

You SILVER guys, not sure how many have these two accessaries already, but if you don't, they sure would be a nice contrast to it.

The running boards and fender trim I'm talkin here. I really don't like the body from a side view on any 07 MDX with out that stuff on, it's too plain and for 40 g's, that stuff should have been stock anyway!

I fooled with the color hue just a bit too :2: ........wish it came in that color instead of the steel blue :(

Yep, you made a wise choice and another great color is that desert sand, I actually really like that color.

I see not many like it but ya know most aren't thinking down the road in years to come and again, with black trim and boards that color would look nicer too.

ACTUALLY, I have a pretty rare Honda accord wagon in that color now! Almost alaways looks clean, even though it's dirty!

Light colors rule :18: :2:

I was actually debating between formal black and nimbus gray, but there was no sport/ent in black at the dealership at that time so I got the nimbus gray with the package I wanted! Now it's dirty...its too cold to wash it! ;)

I like the black but went with the Nimbus. I didn't want to deal with taking care of black, IMO is harder to take care of.

How about this?
craniotes
Or this?

Notice how the windows aren't tinted, the rear turn signals are amber, and there's an extra lightbar/reflector in the center of the rear bumper... I'm assuming that's because this is a Chinese-spec'd version (I found the shots on a Chinese auto website). Interesting, too, that they also get the headlight washers, like the Canadian versions. I wonder why it's assumed that us Americans don't need them?

I wish they made the MDX in this Glacier Blue Metallic (hides dirt & nicks great!!) that's on the on the CRV, that's about the only color I really like from Honda/Acura, I think they should have far more color choices then what they offer plus paint the plastic bumper inserts, I am getting that done as I speak.

LionSpeed
To each his own, I still think the Acura steel blue is better than the Honda CRV blue.

Not sure if you noticed, but it's me, Gary, that just PM'd you.

I like the Steel Blue but the Galcier won't show nicks near as much, we keep our cars a loooong time so light paint is very important to me.

I bet if they had both colors though, the Glacier would smoke the steel blue in sales.

Here it is, well as close as I could get it to duplicate the Glacier Blue. (man I hate that lihgt grey palstic!)

Yours .........

Hi G. I know it's you & already reply your e-mail. The truth is (to me), glacier blue is a tat weak color. To each...

BTW, your steel blue looks different than mine. Has you applied any wax/zaino on it? My blue color goes deepen after 3 layers of zaino.

Yea, I waxed it and yes, it will look different because I changed the colors on it in photo just to get an idea how it could have looked in the glacier blue, I did that right after we bought it, just had to know.

Yep, for sure, to each his own !

The fender trim really looks great on them too! Don't have any current pic's with them on but I'll get some if you want to see what it looks like, after it get's back from the auto body that is..... and THANKS FOR THE TIPS BUDDY!!, MY WIFE CALLED THEM IMMEADIATLY AND SAID TO PUT EXTRA COATS ON FRONT.

I really am amazed so many buy Black, while it really looks nice clean, they sure don't stay that way for long and more often then not they are dirty when I see them.

I'd only own black if it was not a daily driver, dark colors blow in the long run, I guess many of the black/dark color buyers don't keep their cars that long ?

We will have ours at least a good 12 years, at least!!......... it's an Acura!

(gas goes much higher though and a CRV might be coming our way)

So glad I have my 94 Honda XR650L motorcycle , that is getting a lot more use lately.

Yeah, black is an absolute royal pain to keep clean but when it's clean, it's simply spectacular. First black car I owned was 14 years ago and have had black cars ever since. My black TL is 8 years old now with 110K miles on the odo. And my X is here to stay for a long time.

Then again, black car owners might just be a bunch of masochists. :D

Your black looks great, except for the unpainted plastic bumper inserts, I don't like them on any of the MDX's though, not just black.

Wonder if Acura will paint them some year ?

I'll bet if Acura gave a choice, they would not sell one MDX with the unpainted plastic ! It not only looks cheap but breaks up the flow of the front end and over complicates it, too much going on up there.

I predict they will chage that whole bottom section in 09.

You've just answered your own question.

Since your wife is a chick, plus she likes white color, hence WHITE can conclude, a CHICK color. j/k :2:

The real questions here are:
1. Who is the real owner (you or your wife) & will be driving this car the most?
2. Which color do YOU really really like on the MDX? (don't choose color in show-room).

My wife loves the WHITE color the best too. She must have told me close to 100 times to get the white & guess what, I've got the opposite color of white, Black on Black baby. ;)
timmyg
Interesting questions. I am driving it, she is paying for it. See my dilemma?
The "chick color" clause might be my only way out.
kingmdx
Rule of thumb ..make sure the wife is happy :29: ....or you are going to have to hear about it for the entire time you own the vehicle OR you have to be excellent at tunning out people ;)

We have white with bordeaux ....i wanted black on black at first prior to seeing the X in real life...then saw the bordeaux IRL and that was that :) ...she saw the white outside and liked it ... i wanted black with bordeaux but non were on the lot in sport ...but there was a white ...so there we go ... lol :2: ..sometimes decisions are made for you :p
LionSpeed
Get what you want, the color combo that you want, the package that you want. On top of that, tell her to stay away from the X without your presense. If she loves you that much, she will learn to love the color you pick. I do that to my wife, & she loves it.

On the contrary. The only loud & clear & projectile voice you hear at my home is mine. Her job is to listen. She's entitled to practice her first amendment but the final decision is still has been & always be mine. Again, she will learn to love the color I pick, END OF STORY.

P.S. Perhaps it's the chick (my wife) who needs the ear plugs.
timmyg
Lion, I admire your gusto. However, I am a teacher, my wife is a successful professional. Without her, I would be picking out the right color for my new Saturn.

I think that I will have to live with whatever color she "suggests."
LionSpeed
Whatever color SHE picks, the car is a good investment if and only if YOU pick the sport. Don't make the mistake I've made. Good luck otherwise.
LionSpeed
timmyg. Got your IM. I used to own a (NON-SPORT) 2007 MDX Steel Blue Tech. It's no longer mine & recently transfered to my bro-inlaw's.
It was a great car. Coming from an '03 Pilot, the steel blue was heavenly outscored the Pilot in every aspect. Regards the mistake you might ask? I should have gotten the Sport/Ent, Black/Ebony in the begining instead. Would I ever going back to the non-sport? Hell no.

If Entertainment package is not a necessary option for you at this time, then at least get the SPORT package by itself. Like Fabvsix always say, you'll get the best of both world.

timmyg
Thanks for the heads up LS. Two kids, so I need DVD. So I am looking for the Sport/Ent in Taffeta White. Sweet.
kc1953
My wife and I wanted steel blue but couldn't locate one. The two cars at the dealership that had what we wanted (Tech/Ent) were the billet silver and desert rock. Initially, the desert rock looked kinda cool, but the interior is the tan leather, and it was just too one-dimensional as far as color. We chose the billet silver.

I have NEVER seen a desert rock MDX on the road.
LionSpeed
Whatever the result is for formal black, don't forget to add one more fr me. The voting system only allows each member to vote once. Since I've already voted for my steel blue, I can no longer vote for my black.

My better half picked out the color, the Aspen White, since it's going to be "her" car.

Heh, reminds of the days back around the late 80's when I had a black Nissan 300Z Turbo. I must've spent every weekend buffing that thing so the scratches can be waxed out. I haven't had a black car ever since.

What I do admire though is when I see a black car with impeccable finish to it. I know the guy's really dedicated to his car, or is really rich and has it detailed often.

Oh, and hello fellow Edmontonian! :) :)
