After my friend installed the vr3 wireless backup camera on my o3 MDX, I have few problems.

1. Trunk doesn't open!
2. all interior lights don't work
3. trip computer reset itself everytime I drive it.
4. the wireless camera doesn't work!! :banghead:

I think he disconnected some wire when he removed the plastic thing on the trunk and that is the reason for interior lighs not working and the trip computer reset itself.. but I can't figure out why the trunk doesn't open. If I can open the trunk, I think I can fix all other problems that I have.

Is there another way to open the trunk?

Yes, bash your friend's head against the hatch glass. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Can you access the interior from the third row by climbing over?

Do you hear the lock on the trunk make a sound at all when you hit lock/unlock? Definitely sounds like a wire wasnt rehooked up. You better have your friend open up the panel and reconnect that stuff for you.

I'd bring to a local shop before it costs you even more.

Thanks for all the replies. My friend fixed the problem with the trunk. The problem is that he put the wire of the camera through the trunk handle, he moved the wire alittle bit and I was able to open the trunk!!

About the interior lights not working and the trip computer reset itself is related to the light on the trunk panel. After we removed the panel, I notice some black melted plastic around the light, see pic below... If the plastic melted around the light, it has to be some electrical problem, rite? that light never works and I didn't think much about it.... oh well....
I am going to contact my dealer on Monday and hopefully my extended warranty covers the repair.

Glad to see it was a simple fix. At least now you had a look into your other problem. Hopefully you get everything resolved.

update:

I took my car to the shop today, they told me that all interior lights are not working is because some fuse problem, and they will have to replce the trip computer. Gotta take my car back next week when the part arrive... and yes, extended warranty covers all cost!

I'll see if all lights work good over the weekend...... but I am surprised that they didn't mention anything about the light on the trunk panel..
