very interesting. anybody else seen this?
when I open the doors with the key fob, my MDX sometimes says "hello driver 1" (very polite!), but then it doesn't load up the correct steering wheel settings with the seat settings. at the same time, it doesn't light up the Memory 1 button. happens about 30% of the time, but never at the dealer........

any suggestions?

Hmmm... I ran into some issues with the Keylink settings when my wife unlocked the X with her key, but I started it with mine. Of course, when this happened to me, the car wouldn't greet me as "Driver 1" -- I would get the "Welcome" screen, but that was it. Since you're seeing "Driver 1" in the MID, obviously this is a different scenario, but one that still bears mentioning, IMO. Do you use your second key at all?

That has happened to me too. I have found and confirmed with the dealer that you have to press the Unlock button on your remote then open the Driver's side door for all your position memory settings to be recalled. It is the pressing of the Unlock button and opening the Driver's door that recalls the position setting, not putting the key in the ignition.

So if the wife opens the doors with remote #2 and gets into the passenger seat, you have to press Unlock on your remote #1 before opening Driver's door to recall Driver #1 settings. Also, it seems that even if you use your own remote #1 but open a door other than the Driver's door, the steering wheel memory does not get recalled. If you press your remote's Unlock again before opening the Driver's door, all your memory settings will get recalled correctly. That seems to be the only way it works reliably everytime - press your remote's Unlock, then open Driver's door.

I've also noticed that even though I have stored my seat position with the seat back all the way, when the memory recalls my positions after my wife has driven, the seat still has about half an inch left to go all the way back and I have to manually adjust backwards again and re-save it in memory every time after she drives. I'm going to have the dealer check this at first service.

Or, just click on your memory set button, if before getting in the driver seat, if you didnt unlock the car with your keys.

all correct - my wife doesn't drive this vehicle, but i get the same results when i use the 2nd key fob.......

the manual does say that it is locking and unlocking with the fob that makes it recognize the driver. still, sometimes it doesn't load the seat/wheel selection. i wouldn't even have noticed if I didn't have the "easy exit" setting turned on so that it withdraws the steering wheel.

i'll ask the dealer again.......

Let us know what the dealer says. I've had this happen too where the seat goes to it's position but the wheel stays up in the easy exit position, and will pay closer attention to the sequence of events when it happens again.

As a follow-up question to this:

i have my fob unlock all doors when I hit unlock on the fob (as opposed to having to hit it twice).

my wife has her fob to only unlock the driver side door (and you have to hit unlock twice for all doors).

Soooooo...my wife locks up at night with her fob. In the morning I come out and unlock it with my fob and only the driver side unlocks (so I have to push it twice to unlock the other doors). After a first drive, I lock the doors with the fob and then when I unlock them with my fob and all the doors unlock, per the setting.

does this behavior sound right/consistent with other people or is there something I'm missing here?

what's the point in having those settings save to a profile, if you have to open the driver door to get them set??

Thanks for any info anyone may have

Sounds consistent with how the MDX memory works - pressing the Unlock then opening Driver's door seems to be the key event to recall the memory settings.

There also seems to be an issue with the "Easy Exit" steering wheel position recall. It seems that if you unlock all doors (with double Unlock push 2 stage setting) then open another door first, the steering wheel does not go back into the memory position when you put the key in. Also, the Driver's seat does not go all the way back when memory is recalled even though I've saved it in the "all the way back" position several times - is this common for all MDX's? So, after I open the Driver's and let the seat move to my settings, IF I push the power seat button to move the seat backwards the last 1/2" BEFORE putting the key in, the steering wheel does not return to the memory settings.

However, anytime the steering wheel does not return to the memory settings, if I press the memory 2 button on the door, the steering wheel returns to the correct saved position.

I think Acura needs to update the Driver Memory / Profile programming - it seems a little too finicky...

Happy Holidays!
