| How many gallons does the MDX fill up with? How many miles are you getting per tank? My MDX is 1 week old and that needle moves pretty quickly. I've heard of people getting 12 mpgs in city driving.......I could have gotten alot bigger SUV with the same MPG. |

What are you getting after measuring several tankfulls? The MDX is epa rated at 15 City / 20 Hwy. Yes, you could have gotten a larger SUV and gotten similiar mpg - a 4wd 5.3L Chevy Suburban is epa rated at 14 City / 19 Hwy. But that info is available with research, so it should not be a surprise. However, without actually measuring your mpg, you will not know what you are really getting. What is your driving style? If you are constantly flooring it, you will get much less than the epa ratings. |

I am not sure if EPA ratings are different from manufacturer's ratings, but Acura's estimated mpg is 17 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. I live about 15 miles from my work and, therefore, do a fair amount of highway driving. I drive fast, but not crazy fast. I average 18.8 mpg according to the onboard computer. I have never calculated the mpg manually.
BTW, according to the Ownerlink website, the fuel tank capacity is 21 gallons (79.5 L) |

Manufacturer ratings are the EPA ratings. For 2008, the EPA ratings were adjusted to more acurately reflect real life mpg. The MDX rating was reduced from 17/22 to 15/20. The old EPA rating tests were performed using unrealistic driving conditions and the new ratings have correction factors applied to adjust for "realistic" conditions. However, all manufacturers ratings were adjusted downward, so the Surburban/MDX comparison I gave is still valid. |

I stand corrected :) That is interesting that the revised epa estimates for the Suburban are that good under "realistic" driving conditions. I would not have expected it to do that well.
I personally like a mid-size SUV. I have to do a lot of maneuvering in tight spaces like parking structures at work etc and like a little smaller vehicle. Besides, I am usually by myself. If I go anywhere with the family, we take Sequoia, mostly for the DVD player that I didn't opt for on my X. However, the X definitely drives like a car whereas the Sequoia handles like a big clumsy truck. |

It will get better. I just did a 160 mile round trip to NYC and back, and even with traffic, I averaged 19.4 MPG. |

Just picked up a new MDX Tech/Ent. First tank of gas I got 17.1 60% city / 40% highway.
Currently on a fresh tank of premium and have 18.5 mpg with a half-tank left, about 50%50% driving.
My first fill-up was 19 gallons...
The X drives like a car and is simply amazing. |

| I have left Fuel B unreset since I bought it and after about 3500 miles, it's averaging 18.2 mpg. |

After 1,700 miles our '07 MDX base is getting 18 MPG per tank. That's with 75% stop & go traffic and 25% @ 60 MPH freeway. I'm very happy with this mileage. Our last AWD, a '91 Chevy Astro van got at best 15 MPG with a 180 HP 4.3 V6. My 1998 S-10 4x4 ZR2 4.3 V6 pick-up only gets 16 MPG in 2WD.
I'd be curious to see if anyone driving any year V8 Suburban really can get 15 MPG in traffic / city driving.
The MDX is AWESOME!
