My 2005 MDX was rear ended while waiting for a signal. Other driver was checking out an Italian Bistro nearby (as per police report) and 'forgot' to check the traffic ahead. Nobody was injured though I had to hospital next day for neck pain but was fine after couple of days of uncomforable state. Other drivers insurance paid about $8k to fix the damages.

Now my main issue is, there is a considerable gap between the right tail light and the hatch door. I reported when I went to pick up the car but the dealer said that cannot be fixed. He said he can fix a bit by moving tail light a bit to the left but that will create gap on the right side.

I have a feeling that the right side of the body thrusted out (need not be the right term) a bit due to the impact which is kind of difficult to fix. I am not sure what to do at this time.

This gap is kind of bothering me too much. I am not sure what my options are now.

The insurance sent a new appraiser to check my complaint and he found couple of new items like unpainted areas and rusted areas in the bumper. Insurance is telling me to take it to same dealership for another checkout which is like ~50 miles from my home ( this is the nearest Acura certified collision center). I do not want to take my MDX there.

I am not sure what my options are.. This has been a very frustrating accident.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like the shop sucks. I dunno, I would complain about every little thing. I would ask for another shop. 50 miles is a long way for that. If they didnt fix it right the first time, thats just poor service. Especially for one thats certified to work on Acuras.

I had a shop fix the front end on my old car, and it just never looked right. Took it back 3 times, and it still wasnt fixed. They even put a nice crease in the new hood. I end up cussing them out and moving on to another shop.

Sounds like the frame is bent, you did not say about what speed you were hit is the alignment off. :4:

It is 45 Mile zone. I am not sure what speed the other driver was driving. Police didn't put the speed in the report. I assume 40-45mph.
