A couple of things I've been thinking about now that I've had a month or so of listening in the X:
- The deck needs to be a universal DVD-A/SACD player. Doing so would only cost about $50 more to Acura, and increase the number of titles immensely. Plus, many audiophiles like myself already have a universal player at home and an extensive SACD AND DVD-A collection.
- The "listening position" of the surround system needs to be configurable to
1. Driver only
2. Front-seat only
3. Whole car
Heck, with the "airbag off" sensors in place for the front seat, it could even auto-determine the driver-only mode. |

If you're lucky enough to have a Fry's Electronics in your area, they also have quite a few DVD-Audio titles in stock. Just be careful to get true DVD-Audio, as there are also DTS format DVD titles that WILL NOT work in the MDX but are sometimes hard to distinguish from the DVD-Audio versions.
I've also purchased from the following web sites with good results.

Here is a site to checkout if you are interested in DVD-A

You can use the free trial version to burn 5 DVD's. It is unlimited to practice on <700MB except for time.
I tried both a .wav and .mp3 files and this program is very easy to use. I see a bit of a difference in expanding .mp3's versus using this on a lossless file, but I like the immersed feeling of the DVD-A sound system better. In my opinion this software is worth the $45.00.
I practiced with DVD-RW+ with great results.
YMMV :D |

| Allow the driver to choose the audio track for a dvd from the front screen. If a DVD does not default to 5.1 it is a pane to get in the back & choose the 5.1 |
