I got my MDX ent/tech 08 about 2 monts ago, now with about 3000 miles on it. I still get surprised in terms who it drives everyday. The engine is so smooth and very quite most of times. The ride is just like a sedan. Fuel economy stays about 20 in mix 60/40 hwy/city traffic. All the electonic stuff works flawlessly.
It has been a big improvement over my 2005 Range Rover. That thing was so unreliable, noisy, slow, thirsty, and drives like a boat in turns.
MDX has a really low profile, and blends in traffic without attract any attention. That is exactly what I wanted this time around. Overall I can not be happier with it. Thanks for all the good reading on this board before and after I made my purchase.
Happy holidays to everyone.

:29: Good to know that's it's doing great ...nice to sometimes see posts that praise the X rather than say what problems they got. I agree with you ..nearly a month in and loving it more and more each day :)

The MDX is a great SUV. I have had mine for about 4 weeks now and I am very impressed with it. Sure it has some minor weaknesses, but overall it is the best in its class.

For me, the most impressive thing about this truck is the drivetrain. The engine and transmission are excellent. The shifting is smooth, the engine revs low on the highway, but if you need to go, it goes.

IMO, the only other SUV that is as nice is the BMW X5. But the price and long term reliability is not competitive to the MDX.

The family is loving this SUV.

I noticed that also ..on the highway the rpm is really low ...which means there is a lot of power there still to tap into when you dip into the gas. I can't test that yet ..still in break in ..but I'm impressed with the low revs as well :29:

Heck, I'll chime in here as well -- I love my X. Overall, I can't imagine another SUV that I would rather be driving. The engine, transmission, suspension, interior, styling, utility... Top notch all the way. Yes, there are a couple of items I'd like to see (power folding mirrors, for one -- driving in NYC, you'd be surprised how many times I have to fold my side in to make past a double parked truck on a side street), but otherwise I'm good.

Coming from years of sedans, I'm still amazed at how much crap I can haul with this beast. Yesterday, I took my mother and son shopping, and by the time the smoke cleared, we'd pillaged BJ's Wholesale and Stew Leonard's. The final tally included three bins of road salt, a 40lb bag of kitty litter, two cases of bottled water, a ton of groceries, three pointsettas, and a Christmas tree up top (I've never had roof rails before -- man, what a difference...). In the past, had I bought even half this stuff, the interior would've been crammed with the overflow. In the X, the only crap in the interior was of the human variety. Nice.

And of course, once I've divested myself of cargo and passengers, all I need to do is set the suspension to Sport and slap the shifter into manual-mode, and I can pretend I'm driving a sport sedan once more.

Regards,
Adam

still in break in? Less than 600 miles? Man you better start driving your MDX more! Try going on long trips and you will really be amazed at how good this thing drives!;) My MDX just hit its 1st month today and I already put 1700 miles in it. And I only drive it on weekends since me and my wife kept both our cars for work! :D Now get out there and DRIVE!!!:D

All I can do is echo the posts made :-) When I bought my Pilot in 05, I thought I'd hang on to it for a long time ( bought 7yr/160k ext warranty ) - that is until we tested the MDX... There was just no way we could go back to driving the Pilot after driving the MDX - drove, bought!

Even though I did not get the ext. warranty this time round, I can always pick it up in 3 years time.. if need be!

I just don't drive that much during the winter months ...I try to stay off the roads unless I have no choice ...Saturday night to Sunday morning we got a foot of snow  ...left the X in the garage all weekend during the storm :p ...I know my miles will be low can't help it.... when it's warm though I usually drive a lot more... but never the less I do less than 10k miles a year without a doubt.

I thought you could only extend the warranty if you're not over 6k miles ??? I think you would hit over 6k in 3 years :p... so what gives is there some different thing I don't know about again?

You can buy extended warranty from other retailers - particularly easy in the US but more difficult in .ca. Our options are very limited to either Lubrico or WarrantyDirect - with WarrantyDirect being the clear winner.

For the US, I'd recommend getting it from Hondacuraworld.com - here is the link:

http://www.hondacuraworld.com/Merch...egory_Code=WARR
and I quote "Your car must be in factory warranty
to qualify for one of these extended warranty policies." In essence, 59k miles down the road, you can extend your warranty :-)
