The XM radio works just fine in my 08 MDX Tech/Ent until a few days ago I started to experienced XM reception problem. Every time I start the car, the XM radio gets no reception and displays no signal up to 5 mins until it finally receives the signal. My XM service is still in the 3-month-trial period.
Has anyone experienced the same problem recently? Is it due to the bad weather? or some repeaters are broken down in my area? Or simply the XM radio in my MDX is malfunctioning? I live in the Washington DC Area - Montgomery County, Maryland. If the same problem continues for a while, I will have the dealer to check it out.
Thanks for your help. |

If you have not already done so, setup an account on XM's website with your radio.
You can get the radio ID by tuning to Channel 0.
One of the options once you register the radio is to send a reset to it. If you cannot register it, call XM and they will do it for you. I had to call them when my truck was new since my traffic was not working. They reset something behind and it was fine.
Once out of the 3 month trial you will need to create the account so if it is in Honda's name or your dealership have the XM Customer Service rep transfer/create an account for you. |

Does anyone know what the price per month is if it an additional XM radio.
And how much extra for the Traffic Service?
Is the ZAGAT restaurant finder in GPS free?

An additional XM subscription is around $6/month.
I believe the traffic is an extra $5/month but I'm not sure. Other members may chime in.
Yes, the Zagat is free, and is updated together with the NAV disc. |

Additional radio's added to the same plan are $6.99/mo per radio. But if you are paying the standard $12.95/mo for another radio and this would be an additional radio, then call for the Winback77 $77 promotion and make the MDX your primary radio, then add the other one you have at $6.99 month. |

I refreshed the XM signal via XM website, and still no signal for at least 10 mins for my XM radio. Even Channel 1 has no signal. After googled the similar problem, I guess it's the bad antenna and I will have dealer to check it out on Wednesday. This will be my third time I brought my car in after less than 2 months ownership! |

Probably bad / loose antenna connection.
I had two of them break on my Sirius Sportster, and the symptoms were the same. No signal, no signal, no signal......signal! |

In my case the radio works fine for the first 4 minutes, then there is like a static sound every 10 seconds.
After taking it to the dealer for the second time and called xm and the 3 months period finalized, now they say I need to subscribe to be able to debug the issue. |

I got my X back today after sitting in the shop for 7 days. Well, I can't really complain about it because of the holidays but I did miss my X when I drove the TSX loaner, and my wife's 07 Camry..
My dealer did a good job to solve the problem. First they downloaded the latest XM firmware, and then replaced the XM antenna. Both of them failed to fix the problem. Finally, they replaced the whole XM unit. The good thing is they informed XM radio that the new unit is swapped so I can keep my 3-months free trial! When the free-trial is up, I am gonna use $77 "winback" code to renew the service. |
