I wanted to replace the wiper blades on my 07 MDX, and wanted to see if if there was a specific brand that fits into the MDX besides buying it from Acura.

If you want the best get these (Super Silicone model). I just put them on my 2008.

Which PIAA did you buy? I have a set for the first gen MDX, but the driver's side is 2 inches too short.

Do you have the buy the entire wiper or just the rubber blade replacement?

At the link: Super Silicone Blade Numbers: 81=24" and 11=21" are exactly the same size as 2008 factory units.

I bought the entire wiper (blade) and not the refills.

I have had a set on my BWM X3 since 2004 - still perfect. With the Silicone treatment the rain beads and runs off even without the wipers but it need to be reapplied (very easy) every couple years and mine is due.

Anyone put the PIAA Super Silicone Wiper Blade rubber refill in the OEM wiper frame?
I heard that the refills fit the OEM frames and are better quality than the PIAA brand frame.

Getting off the topic of wiper blades how is rain-x on the MDX windshields. There's a new product to me that I saw, rain-x cleaner, cleans and coats windshield in one application. It comes in a windex size container. Wondering if it really works. Has anyone put rain-x on the blue tinted side mirrors, wondering if it will damage the special blue tint on the glass.

May I ask why do you feel that your blades should be replaced?? Are they not working well?

Also, is there a reason you can't simply apply the silicone coating mentioned above on the OEM blades or do they have to be applied on the PIAA blades i.e. need to work together??

FWIW, I find the front wipers are OK, but the small rear one is pretty useless - will complain to the dealer when i bring it in for the 1st oil change. Anyone else find the rear one just smears everything??

Forgive me if I am getting off-topic....

My front blades are starting to smear so I wanted to replace them. I might just get the OEM refills so I don't have to change the look of the blades on the car.

Most times when wiper blades streak, it's because they are coated with oily road film.
It's inevitable.

Put a couple of drops of Dawn dish liquid in a bowl, with warm water.

Dip a corner of a rag into the solution, and pinch the damp cloth between your fingers, and run it down the length of the blade, in order to clean both sides at the same time.

Keep a clean section of the cloth for each pass, and wipe until the rag stays clean.

You'll be amazed as to how much grime is on the blades.

I have used it before and I find it works. However; I think it is like an addictive drug. Once you use it, you have to keep using it or things look worse than before you started. I will never put it on one of my vehicles again. That being said, if you are willing to keep applying it, it does work.

maybe I'll just put rain-x on the side windows, since they don't have wipers.

Will this size fit 2005 MDX ? Unlike the other wiper blade brands - which say specifically the size for each car/model/year, this one says one size fits all - MDX 01 - 07.

Does it fit like the OEM ?

How about the windshield itself? I've had my X for 5 months and notice that I can see the outline of the wipers on the windshield even after I wash the car. What can I do to remove those lines?

I will definitely clean the blades using your dish liquid remedy in the meantime.

Thanks!

luanda - of course you can use just the silicon (see below) but the blades reapply a little more silicon each time they are used allowing the treatment to be effective for years.

kunB - don't know about 2005 but these are exacly the same size as the factory units on my 2008 and the frames are the same also.

burnside - might be a little scratching, buff it out and apply PIAA silicone and you will not have this problem again.

BTW - I can never find good replacements for the rear wipers for any of my cars so I just apply the PIAA silicone and use the crummy OEM blades.

Happy Holidays to all !

I have been using Rain-X for many years on all of my vehicles, including my boat. It is an excellent product that causes the surface of the windshield to become super slick and therefore the water beads quickly and runs off. The Rain-X keeps my windshields in a sufficiently good condition that I frequently do not need to turn on the wipers as soon as I would without the Rain-X. This is especially helpful on the boat.

The first time I had to repace the MDX wiper blades I went with the Bosch Ichon blades. I went with the total replacement. The replacement is a beam type. An excellent blade. They are expensive, about $22.00 per blade, but worth it.
