My local dealer has a price book for the "installed" accessories which include full retail for the accesories and the labor to install. Seriously, I would shy away from getting the accessories at the dealer and try to get them from a reputable online shop like hondaacuraworld.com

I have also used Curry Acura (via ebay) and been successful.

The "invoice" on a tech/ent is around 42,500... that's the price of the car that you would love to pay. Myself for example...best I could get the dealers to do was 1k over invoice... for a variety of reasons, I took that deal. I would not have paid more than that. In my mind, it's a fair deal for everyone.

For accessories - I would forget about the cargo mat, all season mats, and cargo cover - get those online and save yourself some money. Installing those are no brainers.

Wheel locks on stock wheels? I wouldn't care too much for them. Last time I checked, the MDX didn't have a wheel that was popular for stealing.

Roof Rails - have them install the rails... if you can - you buy the cross bars online and put those on yourself (more no brainer install stuff).

That leaves the dealer with roof rails, door guards, moonroof visor, and running boards.... wheel locks if you want them. If you get the car for 42,500, they will make up the profit on the accessories. If you pay 1k over invoice, you should try to work some of those into the deal. If you can get the accessories for full retail with free install - I would think you are doing pretty well.

So think about something like this...

Car price: 1k over invoice - 43,500 - still a great deal.
accessories: full msrp w/ free install - probably around 1000 for all of those items). check the acura website.

That leaves at around 44,500...

Of course, some people on the boards will proclaim that everything should be included for 42,500... but we know that's unlikely...

And the number of people who get a tech/ent at invoice is rare enough (I sure couldn't do it anywhere within 500 miles... ). The entertainment package is a bit more rare and seems to be a premium. Dealers know it.

Good luck!

I would start with edmunds.com and get quotes from surrounding dealers, but be prepared to get a lot of phone calls.
Being the end of the calendar year, I would shoot for invoice plus tax and tags. Don't let them tack on any additional dealer fees etc, those are just extra profits for the dealer. As for accessories, I agree with previous poster on buying most online. I prefer Tim at hondacuraworld.com He is a true gentleman and I've been dealing with him since 01. Good luck

I went to see my dealer and he quoted me $43K (including destination) as his best price for a Tech/Ent. I have leased from him before (05 MDX) and I am located in NYC. I think I can do better, I'll keep you posted.
