I'm new to MDX, just bought a used 04 MDX for a couple weeks.

When I 1st test drive a couple MDX before a bought one, one thing I realized on all of them was the steering wheel shaking at low speed or on a rough road. I thought it's normal for Acura MDX since all of them acting the same, all my familly have toyota and none of them having this issue unless the wheels are unbalanced.

Untill I had one and driving with a steering wheel shaking is very annoying. Anybody thinks this is normal for MDX ?

Thank you for your inputs !

I agree. It sounds like your tires are out of balance. Also consider an alignment. If you purchased from a dealer you might try to get them to do the work at no charge, since this should have been part of their prep work.

If tires were new with your purchase, they may also be out of round. I have had this happen as well.

I had the same problem when I bought my '02 (pre-owned). I told the dealer to fix it and of course they did a half job. After another place couldn't get it right, I got worried something else could be wrong.

I finally took it to a well known, family owned kind of place. Of course they had the audacity to take off the stick on weights and hammer weights on!!! Eventually they got it right and it rides excellent, though it does still pull to the right a little bit. Always has. I don't know what to think of that.

The guy that was doing the Road Force said when he worked at tire kingdom the machine wouldn't tell them how far in or out to put the stick on weights inside the rim, but the machine at this place did. Figures.

If your MDX is pulling a bit..

Is it just when braking? - Rotors/pads could need a looking at
When driving - Alignment.. Get the alignment done asap.. the MDX eats tires when its out of alignment.

Definitely a tire balance and possibly and alignment problem. Have both checked, more than likely that should resolve it.

Good luck!

Thank you for all response !

Yes, I bought it Pre-owned and it under warranty. It's certified with 4 new tires that's why I thought they should have been inspected and did alignment b/f they put it for sale.

It also pulled the the left side when I'm at high speed and I believe it definitely need an alighment tire rotation.

Thanks,

Even with new tires, if they are not balanced correctly, you will see that problem. Tire balancing is not rocket science, but it does have to be done correctly to get that nice smooth MDX ride.................
