| There are threads here talking about how fuel octane can affect the performance of our MDX. I am starting this thread so actual MDX owners can chime in as to which octane they actually use in their MDX on a regular basis. |

| I'm a new 2007 owner and I've been using 91 octane since I got it. |

Premium unleaded only in my vehicles.
Why skimp a few cents and risk and issues, and less performance? |

| I follow the manufacturer's instructions and use only 91 octane. |

91 octane not available where I live. I usually put in 93 (high test) but sometimes alternate between 89 and 93 (but fill up when half full). I see no difference in performance.
Whereas with my 2002 MDX, it was RECOMENDED to use 91, I see that the 2008 tells you to only use 91. |

| 93 Octane in my 2004. You should of made a poll. |

| EXCALIBUR |
| I've consistently used 87 octane in my MDX since 2002.:4: |

My 2004 started out life dining on high test. Then after a few months it was every other tank full.
Finally I asked myself why? Didn't have a good answer, so for the past two years 87 octane has been the diet. That way I do not have to remember which fuel I put in which vehicle. My wife's DHS likes 87 according to the mfg.

The other day I saw a gas station with a sign saying Racing Fuel. :6: 100 Octane
(One of these days I might be crazy enough to try it!) |

I use premium, which is 91 here since we are about 1200 feet above sea level, locations at sea level will typically see 92-94 as their premium.
Keep in mind that the reason for using higher octane fuel is to keep the engine from knocking, but with the knock sensors in the newer engines, the engine will retard itself to keep from knocking, but the price is typically less horsepower when this occurs. |

| nothing less than 92 in both cars. can't stand the way it runs on 87. |

| 89 octane (mid or plus grade) from Texaco, Shell, or Chevron. Runs great. |
