I just bought an 07 MDX with Tech/Ent but lacking the roof rails and crossbars. After reading all the posts about the great deals that CURRY ACURA provide, I called my local dealer and they will match the prices. Since it was free shipping, they will only charge me the CA tax. I was shocked because Marin Acura in the S.F. Bay Area is really tough when it comes to deals. They went from $219/$215 to $169/$169. That is quite a savings. But my question is labor. They are going to charge $232. Does that seem a little much? How hard are they to put on if I were to do it myself?

Thanks you for suggesting the CURRY ACURA WEBSITE!

They are not difficult to put on. The roof trim simply pops off from the rear of the roof. Here's a tip: You do not have to remove the entire strip. Just up to the windshield.

The roof strip will need to be trimmed based on the measurements in the instructions. The strip is metal encased in rubber so a hacksaw is needed or better yet, a rotary tool like a dremel will make the job much easier.

The rails are bolted on using torx nuts. I used a T-30 socket and ratchet instead of a driver for a faster install. A T-15 is needed to secure the torx bolts for the cross bars later.

You should be done in a couple of hours.

Thanks for the quick response. I just feel that $200 is a little much for Rail Installation. I will try my best.

Saw your other post and replied there ....but this is a do it yourself ...I used a dremel tool with cutting access. also as eujinc said to make it easy. If you don't have a dremel then buy one and I guarantee you it will still be cheaper in the end... plus you get a new tool to add to your tool collection for future mods :D

I know, I know...I could do it myself. I felt comfortable working on my GTI and Blazer but not the MDX (yet). I will get the nerve soon enough. You make it sound very easy, which it probably is. I payed $150 more because of labor.

I really do enjoy this forum. I have learned so many things about the MDX.
