Hello all,
this is my 2nd post. i am just about to take my acura for first service/ oil change. i bought this as used a couple of months ago. what is the recomended service for 72,000 miles. differential oil, trans flush are due? not sure. I dont want the Dealer to rip me off by suggesting unnecessosory services, but i want to keep my acura running trouble free. some advise would be appreciated |

This will really depend on what mainenance records you have which will help determine the last interval for fluid/filter changes.
The longer list of potential items should includ:
Oil/Filter
Transmission Fluid
Transfer Case Gear Oil
Rear Differential Fluid
Air Filter
Pollen Filter
Check
Front/Rear brake pads
If you know some of these have been changed at the appropriate interval then they can be removed from the list. |

| All of what Ceenit can be done by you, and at a great savings, I might add. You might invest in the shop manual. I think it's about $70, and that you will recoup on your first maintenance. You can invest in some inexpensive ramps and tools. This allows you to "inspect" all components (brake lines, exhaust, etc) for FREE, when the dealer will charge you $100+/hr (at least in my area) to do the very same thing. Save the dealer for warranty stuff, if you have a warranty. You might also search around for an independent Honda/Acura facility. You might even as on this board if someone is aware of a reputable shop in your area. ALL of the mechanical damage done to my '03 was done by the DEALER! You can also get filters and fluids from your nearby Honda dealer and save additional $$$. Good luck with whatever you decide. |
