| I've read other postings about humming noises. My problem is definitely not related to the "remapped" transmission ratios as I am familiar with those. I have a '03 MDX (Touring, towing package) with 67K miles. For the past 10K miles, I have consistently been hearing a steady,low-pitched humming noise coming from what seems like the tranny or forward drive train when I drive at steady speeds (25-70+ mph). The best comparison I have is that it sounds like the low-pitched humming of the jet engines on a commercial airliner. If I shift into neutral, the sound immediately stops, even with revving. My otherwise thorough Acura dealership acknowledges hearing the sound but can only tell met it's probably the transmission/differential. They don't want "to take it all apart to find it". Bottom line: "live with it". Anybody have a similar problem or have any ideas on further identifying the noise? No sense in not putting the Acura extended warranty to good use. |
