I just received door edge guards for the 2008 MDX ordered online, and I'm wondering whether to put them on or not now. Currently the car already came from the dealership with a thin, clear door edge guard (Do all X's come with this or was this a dealer add-on?). These ones are thicker and seem more durable but would be obviously more noticable.
They are color matched with the billet grey but I'm wondering if they won't look that great once on. I'm already getting installed the side moldings and black side step. Does anyone have a pic of their door edge guards installed (preferably one of the greys)? |

| I am also interested in what the OEM ones look like. |

| I thought you couldn't install the BSM and the door edge guards together. It was either one or the other but not both. It sounded to me like the install could be a bit hairy so I have decided against them. I would however love to see them installed if you can do it. |

| You can install both. BUT you need to put the door guard first before the BSM so that the BSM can line up to the guard. Without the guard, the BSM typically goes to the edge of the door. |

| My MDX came with the door guards on delivery and I thought I wouldn't like them, but honestly, I didn't notice them until the salesman pointed them out... and when I tell people about them, they tell me they did not notice them until I pointed them out... |

That actually looks really clean on the Aspen White MDX. I ended up deciding not to install them since I thought they would be too busy with the BSM.
When chatting with the salesman he said that they don't even carry the door edge guards which is why they just do the 3M clear tape on the edges.
Oh well, I'm happy with the way that the BSM and Regular Running Boards look so far on the Sterling Grey MDX, hopefully I won't end up regretting not installing them since they are going to go back to Tim :) |

another good place to put these is along your trunk or tailgate as it protects if you close it if you have something like a plank or poll so it rest upon it instead of your edged paint......make sense?
Burp ! I had it on my 05 but it is hard to see.... |

| Yes, OEM. My car was a dealer trade and the "other" dealership already had them installed. |
