| Just had my radio replaced because of the popping sound that was coming when I used to start my vechile, but now I hear the "pop" whenever I turn off the MDX. Anyone else notice this? |

I got my radio replaced due to a stuck CD changer and have this issue now. I complained about it and all the techs and service writers say acura is working on a fix. |

| I have had the popping noise at start-up but believe there is a TSB (007-052) which has been re-issued on 1/12 that deals with the problem. I think it involves a software update and/or a new amplifier. I am waiting for my next service to have the work done, but contacted the dealer and they made sure the parts were ordered and reserved for me. Will keep you informed. |

| Repalcing the radio did stop the "pop" that occured on start up, I have noticed if I turn off the radio before I turn off the vechile, the pop does not happen. |

Mine started to do the popping sound when it got cold here in Houston (cold = below 50 degrees!). My service guy admitted that they were seeing quite a bit of these complaints in the winter whereas there were none over the summer. Mine doesn't make any sound on a typical day here (over 60 degrees).
They reproduced the popping sound, but my service guy told me they pulled the TSB as the fix (reprogramming the radio) was not working. Supposedly a new fix is in the works. Until then, I'm turning off the head unit before I turn off the engine. When I start it up with the radio off, then turn the radio on - even on a cold day - there's no popping sound.
It baffles me how this can be related to temperature, but then again I am not an expert with electricity - just a heavy consumer of it :) |

| The new fix is a full replacement of the radio unit. I have a feeling it has something to do with the amp. |
