Just a general question about HID kits and dealers-
Have any of you with aftermarket HID kits taken the vehicle in for service and if so, did the service dept give you any flack about it?
Anyone had warranty work done (on other items of course) with an aftermarket HID kit?
Just looking for some real world experiences with this issue. |

| As long as its not directly related to the warranty work, it shouldnt be a problem. If you had an aftermarket radio, that wouldnt be the reason your trans would fail. Do you have something specific getting worked on, or is that a general question? |

| That was my thought as well, our rear view camera is acting up, and I did not want them to give me any flack about when I took it in. So I was curious what others had experienced when it came to service. My thought was if I went in complaining about the headlights not working, sure it is my issue. But everything else should be fine IMHO. |

| Nah, they wont even look at the headlights. Its probably the connection or the camera. You should be fine. Anyone else care to chime in? |

| Nah, they won't bother you. They have dug all down under the hood with a whole list of problems and they haven't once brought up concern of my HID kit or any other mods. Wait... I take that back, they did ask where I got my "got acura?" decal from. :D :29: |

| Depends on the dealer. My org dealer never made a comment only my saleperson inquired how I did it, this was before MDX came with HID. The new dealer I take it to only commented when I replace my 02 Headlights with 04 headlights. Nothing else. LIke others said as long as it is not directly attributed to a repair. The mostly don't care. Of course YMMV. |

| Agree with other posts. My local dealer guys have never commented on any of my add-ons to my 01. They do get confused about the MY coz it has 04 heads and tails, a backup camera and dual exhausts. No problems with the HID setup. I even asked them to make sure to reconnect the HID wires to the battery after the latter was replaced. |

Well, I finally put in the HID kit yesterday. I spent a lot of time trying to make everything look neat and clean. The way I have installed the ballasts, someone would not notice the kit was in there, unless they really made an effort to look closely. Everything is hidden pretty well.
Overall, I am very pleased with the end result. |
