I took delivery of my 2007 Black/Bordeaux Sport/Ent in July and it's been through the first oil change and tire rotation, I wanted to share my experiences with a few of the initial quality quirks many of you have been experiencing. This board has been awesome in helping me identify issues that I might have otherwise just thought was unique to my MDX.
First let me say I love my car, I love driving it, and I do not regret at all replacing my Inifinti m35x with the MDX.
Issue 1 - day/night rearview mirror vibrates - explained the issues, showed them the printout of the thread I found here, it was fixed.
Issue 2 - my leather on the driver side seat was wrinkling pretty badly. The first response was that this was normal wear. I said not acceptable for a car with 7k miles. They applied some conditioner to it, didn't help. Again I showed them a copy of the thread found here and they agreed to replace the leather. I was a little worried about color match, but it turned out great.
Issue 3 - Stereo popping. The dealer applied the latest firmware/software upgrade a couple of weeks ago and it seems to have fixed the problem. One note, if you have this done and you have CD or Audio DVD's loaded into the changer, when you fire the stereo back up it will look like they aren't being recognized, i just hit the changer number position button and it went right to the disc and then read the track info. This may be something that only happened to me, who knows. I had .mp3 DVD that I had recorded in the changer. Which works great!
Issue 4 - I was having a real bumpy loose sound out of the front end when I went over really hard uneven surfaces, usually rr tracks or concrete roadways. They said there was a service bulletin on this and they replaced a spring, it was per TSB 07-014. This seems to have fixed the problem.
Issue 5 - rattle coming from glovebox area. Turned out it was the dampening mechanism for the glove bx closer, keep this in mind if you have the same problem.
Issue 6 - dash side window defroster vents were not seated properly, the dealer ordered new and replaced, fixed.
Issue 7 - my gas cap door is sticking, I guess there is a TSB on this as well, waiting for a part.
Comments - getting an experienced service advisor makes all the difference. Terry here in Salem Oregon has been working on Acura's for years, when he has helped me I haven't had any issues getting things done. When he is out of the office his replacement is lost. Our dealership co-brands with Mercedes and Lincoln, so he may not work with Acura.
Again this is all my personal experience, YMMV. |

DuggerOR -
Do you have any pictures of your Bordeaux interior? I have not been able to track one down at any local dealers to see what it looks like. It's hard to get a good feel for it from the 3 inch swatch they have in the MDX book at the dealership. |

It's a dark snowy day here in Oregon, not the best for taking pictures, I hope this gives you an idea. I really like the interior color.

| Bordreau looks completely different "in person". Pictures don't do justice! I like it too but just so many color shades going on (black/grey dash/silver metalic plastic handles, faux wood, silver speedo gauges, bordeaux) |

DuggerOR -
Thanks for posting the pix! I think it looks good....real good. I would really like to see one in person, but the pix do look nice. |

Hey Dugger thanks for the post. I have the exact same model - sport/ent black/bordeaux delivered late July '07. (I also really love the combo.)
Curious: I didn't see any mention of the front control arm clicking noise issue that appears in multiple threads here.
I'm getting ready to take mine in for its first service at 6500 mi. I've had none of the other issues...save the wrinkly leather (and some leftover plastic under the front window washer jets from a sloppy delivery prep). I do have the control arm issue however.
It showed up around 4400 miles.
Thanks...great shots of the interior! And I agree, the photos don't really do it justice. |

Hommerun, the TSB that is mentioned on my service order for the front suspension is TSB 07-014.
I hope this helps.
Our MDX's must have come off the assembly line at the same time, I ordered mine on 4/6/07 and took delivery on 6/30/07. |
