I just purchased an 07 MDX Sport with oem 19" wheels and I' m having problems. The vehicle is very unstable on uneven sufaces and is difficult to keep on the road. I treks straight as an arrow on good roads and I have no problems there but when I travel on a not so perfect road it becomes dangerous. Is this because of the big tires? I'm thinking of going to 18" sport wheels but I'm reluctant to change because of the appearance. This is my wife's car and she doesn't feel safe driving it.

I just had an alignment and it still drives the same. Any suggestions?

Anyone interested is purchasing 19" chrome factory wheels?

How much do you want for them?

Have you had low profile tires before?? I'd guess that you're experiencing tramlining, which is more prevalent with low profile tires...

Going to the 18's with taller sidewalls will probably help. I haven't noticed severe tramlining in my MDX on roads where my sedans with sport tires would.

I also have the OEM 19s, but haven't encountered the instability that you're experiencing. Can you describe in detail the road surface and driving condition (speed, turning, going straight, etc.)?

ditto man, i have the 19" stockers and it rides fine. Maybe they are not balanaced right?

when you have the wider 275 tires the come with the 19" they will tack with the road. Most of the roads are not perfect so it's a trade off. you will get use to it or not. It's what you can tolerate.

When you start using words like "dangerous", it's past time to get to the dealers. You have a warranty, and "dangerous" needs fixing.

Thanks for your help. My wife's gonna drive an 08 with 18" wheels and if she likes it I'm changing the wheels. So Sad cuz it looks BAD TO THE BONE with the 19" chrome wheels. I wish Acura made 18's that looked like the 19's. ANYONE?

Hi

I have the OEM 19" too, and notice the same problem but it can be much lees noticeable if the tire pressure is 30-32psi when cold. The dealer preps it with 28psi and usually the car does a lot of 'trailing'.

Hope you can try and feel the difference.

Factory recommends 32 psi for the OEM 18s and 35 psi for the 19s.

Thanks for the info. How many miles should I expect from the 19" tires as opposed to the 18" ones?

What kind of tires do they come with?
dmarse
It came with Michelins but what would be the best tire that would give me the best mileage?

The more research I do on the subject it may have alot to do with the tires. It came w/ Michelin Diamaris and has 14,000 miles on them and they're dead. Any tire recommendations?

For the this size 275/45-19, I recommend the Michelin Latitude Tour HP. It's all-season, M+S and V-Rated.

Treadwear=440
Traction=A
Temperature =A
