Just yesterday our new MDX threw two codes
First was PO155 - which is an emissions dealio
Second was Code 77 - which is all wheel drive problem
The car is about 2 months old and only has 1,500 miles on it, any idea why this would have happened so suddenly?
Also we are having trouble getting it in to our local dealer (Metro Acura in Montclair, CA) They dont provide a loaner car or a rental car unless we purchased from them. We purchased the car in torrance at metro honda and dont want to go all the way out there. Is acura supposed to provide a rental loaner?
The service manager "Bob" is also a real a-hole! |

For significant warranty work, they should provide a loaner. |

| On MDX's pre MID, a faulty EGR valve would sometimes show up as a code for the EGR, together with a code for the VTM-4 4wd system. Might be the same deal on an '08. The dealer is the way to go, I think. |

interesting....going to talk to the dealer about that one.
Sadly my biggest quam is acuras lack of service. Originally my wife called (through the car) and they gave her the run around. When I called the first guy he was useless, once I talked to the service manager he was rude and unapologetic. I really expected more out of Acura.
We both come from driving and owning hondas, which has been a mixed experience, but they've always been very relaible. Now that we stepped up to something a little higher end we sort of thought we were going to get better service, perhaps we were wrong. |

athous- I know what you are going through. I just went through a similar scenario with my windshield (their lack of concern). I called Honda (yes called, not emailed- how annoying) and got resolution. I am not happy with the fact that I have to call Honda. They do not have an Acura division that caters to people that have spent more money on their car. Anyway, you should really call Honda, it will help.
BTW- I checked Infinity’s website YOU CAN EMAIL THEM!!!! |

Call up American Honda, since Acura does not have a call center to take complaints and contact dealers to resolve issues. I don't have the number off hand, but I'm sure you can get it off their website. They are located in Torrance, CA.
As far as the rental, no matter where you bought your car, if your car is in need of warranty repair and you go to the nearest dealer, they have to honor you a rental car for however many days they will keep your vehicle in the shop. If I were you, I would skip the service manager, and talk to the service director and the dealership manager to discuss this. Tell them also that you have put in a complaint to American Honda re: their policy on the loaner vehicles. |
