Does anyone in Canada actually use kPa to measure their tire pressure? Because my TPMS system displays my tire pressure in kPa, and it's so not helpful because we use psi here, as far as I know! We're a weird country, we use some metric and some imperial, but Acura stuck everything in metric.

I've been trying to find out how to change the units in the manual, but I've either missed it, or it's not there (meaning it's not possible).

Help anyone?

I have yet to have a MDX or an idea on how to change the system to PSI but here is a formula to convert KPa to PSI taken from the web

PSI = KPa / 6.8948
KPA = PSI X 6.8948

follow this link for a small table;

I would be wise if Acura could offer the choices like other manufacturers that you can switch between the 2 system at the push of a button from MPH/KPH, odometer Miles/Kilometres. GM has been offering that for a few years on some of their models.

Best regards from Montreal

I'll have to tape that table to my dash... ;)

I did find it odd that you couldn't change units. I just assumed you'd be able to, seeing as we could do it in our '05 Escape.

Dory,

There is a unit converter function built into the calculator in the navi. Go to calculator, us voice command or jog dial to enter KPa. Press jog dial to go to unit converter and scroll down to the KPa/PSI entry.

It seems like Acura has gone backwards. In our '01 (without NAV) I can hold down the Trip button for five seconds and it will switch units for me.

I've tried adopting kPa in the past, you know, embracing the metric system and all that. :D I think it lasted a week before I switched back to PSI. I can't do math with such big numbers. :(
