| Anyone feel our HID is bit wide and not much distance coverages. Also, the light output on the road seen a bit dim compare with LS430 or G35. |

I agree the the beam cutoff is a bit low, but that can be adjusted with screws behind the lights under the hood (do a search and you'll find a thread outlining this procedure).
As for light output, I don't really have anything to compare it to since both of my other cars have halogen lights. Mind you, having driven as a passenger in friends' and neighbors' cars with HIDs, the ones in our X seem to be pretty much the same in terms of output.
Regards,
Adam
PS - With the high beams on, you can see my X from space. |

| m500. Agree with you on HID being wide but short on distance. Probably too wide because I can see the glare aiming at people's face (on lower car side by side). Another thing, our tail LED lights particularly the brake lights are way too bright & annoying to whoever stays behind. They should tone this down. $0.02 |

Let me search for that cutoff adjustment procedure. I hate to tamper with my car but I'll do it, if this is a safety issue and it is IMO. |

I will save you the trouble since it was my thread originally...

It is REALLY easy to adjust this. All you need is a relatively long (about 12") phillips screwdriver with a smaller sized tip.
I would say start with 10 turns up (of the screwdriver) on each and see how you like that. You will probably need more.
Good luck! |

| Oh wow. I'm happy to have noticed this post. I have been thinking the same thing to myself about the lights being too low. Every once in a while I check to see if I forgot to turn on my lights. But to my dismay, they are already on. It's 2f degrees outside but I'm still going to adjust them right now. At least my X is parked in a garage. |

| Don't forget those with the "sport" model have auto leveling headlights and I wouldn't touch those adjustments.......... |

But will it not disturb oncoming drivers if you change???

Only if you turn them up too high.
I ended up turning mine a WHOLE lot higher than it came, to the point where drivers would flash. I have since backed it down and have been running about a month without anyone flashing me at all.
At that point they were too high anyway....the high beams were pointed up so high as to be useless, so I would have turned them down regardless. |

| coming from the TL, the MDX HID's suck. I have adjusted them numerous times, but acura did too good of a job on the TL. The TL has the most powerful and best projectors on the market. I wonder if it possible to inegrate them into the MDX... |

| I've requested the HID to be adjusted during my B16 service. Its perfect now. I think I gain about 20 ft distant in coverage. |

| I have noticed this before too compared to my wife's RDX sometimes I don't if know if my lights are on. I have friends that have HID and kept telling me that my lights weren't HIDs. I pulled out the specs for the car and of course they were. The thing was that when they first turn on they look like HIDs but after a minute or two they change to a more yellow color. I decided to switch out the bulbs to 12000K bulbs and much more blue and look awesome. But I notice that the range is not that far (stock aimed too low) much more because the beam was more distinct. I'm gonna try and adjust them this week and see if that helps with distance. |

12000K equals much less output than the stock lights. As I said before, the projector in the MDX sucks balls. It's not very good and does not illuminate the road fairly well. |

I feel different than you guys. I have an 08 and I think that the standard lighting package is really set up nicely. Really bright on my car. It does have a sharp cut off however. The lights on my MDX are better than my other car an 06 SC430.
Without even seeing this post I have been impressed with the headlights. I do wish the lights swiveled/pivoted like on the lexus. That thrills me at every turn.
Just my .02.
