Hey Everyone!

I recently noticed on my '08 MDX Tech that when rolling up to a stop sign/red light and coming to a stop, the transmission fails to drop below 1k, and pulls forward while I'm braking. Once I push hard on the brake, the transmission will finally drop below 1k, however the car jerks forward.

Has anyone had this problem before?

This only seems to happen once every few weeks. I have 6,000 miles on my car and have had it since 11/27.

Last night, this happened again. I wanted to see if the problem would happen in Manual, and it did. After driving carefully for about 10 miles, I was backing into my driveway and it seems the that car "slipped" out of reverse and the engine revved up to 5k with my foot on the brake. I put the car in drive, pulled forward about 5 feet, put it back in reverse and backed up about 6 feet. All of a sudden, the car stopped as if I was agains a curb. There was nothing obstructing my path, the car "refused" to back up any further.

I finally resigned to pulling in my driveway head on.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Erick

I will be calling my dealer tomorrow to get it checked out.

Any chance you're catching the gas pedal with the edge of your right foot? SUre sounds like it.

Given Honda/Acura's dismal history with their trannys document EVERYTHING they do at the dealer. It might just save you a lot of $$$ down the road. Honda/Acura has an abyssmal history on compensating people with tranny failures. After the warranty is out some get 100%, some 20% (my son, for one), and a lot get NOTHING!! Problems do come up with any vehicle but I expect the tranny to last a while, especially on a car costing $40K+! Let us know what happens at the dealer. Try to duplicate the problem for them. No matter what happens make a paper trail. Good Luck!
