Hi All-
I'm still on the verge of purchasing my X and my OCD over details is taking over :-)
Sound quality is a big deal to me. I was wondering if anyone had any info on whether there is a difference in audio quality between the AUX input (in the center storage console) vs the RCA inputs (on the back of the storage console).
I realize that it's either one or the other - AUX with non-ENT models and RCA with the ENT model. I'm deciding between the MDX Tech and the MDX Tech/Ent, but I don't want to sacrifice audio quality from my external mp3 devices by choosing the latter.
With this example, I'm assuming the same 3rd party audio source is used (MP3 player, etc), just so that's not part of the equation. I'm obviously talking about 2007 or 2008 models only.
Let me know if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks,
Adam |

If you use your headphone output to connect to it I can tell you that the sound will not be the greatest because of impedance mismatch.
If your MP3 player has a line out (like Ipod's bottom connector) use it as the impedance of this circuit is a better match to the Aux input of the Acura.
I do not have a MDX yet but in my 2005TL with the Aux Input adapter, I use the bottom "expansion"connector on my Ipod and the difference between this and the headphone jack connected to the Aux input is like Night & Day. |

Thanks for the reply frenchnew. I understand the difference between connections on the iPod. I don't actually use an iPod because I don't believe in paying $1 per song, but that's another story.
Right now I'm using the Sana Rhapsody as my player of choice.
However, either way, I'm mainly looking for info on the difference between the connections on the *car*, not on the audio device. AUX vs RCA.
Anyone else? :-)
Thanks!
