I've seen this mentioned a few times here (but could not find the original thread) but this is a picture of the plastic trim buckling on top and bottom on the driver's side dash where it meets the door (when closed).
For those of you who have had this, can this be fixed? Do they put in a new part, or just glue it down or something? |

| I have had mine completely replaced twice. It is becoming frustrating. |

| Both of mine are like this. I have taken both off, and they will not re-seat properly. |

| I have this same problem and every MDX I've seen on the lot had similar issues. Another example of piss-poor Canadian build quality! I just don't understand how this gets past "quality control." |

"quality control" ... if there really is ONE.
Another thought, those piss-poor souls call themselves "QC Dept", should stop QC'ing with their ears & starting QC'ing with their eyes. :28: |

| I have the same issue and have just ignored it. Appears to be a poorly designed/molded part. |

| I had the same problem but the dealer replaced the piece without question after checking several other X's in the showroom. It came out perfectly and even got an apology from service advisor becuse she thought it wouldn't work! :2: It was done about six months ago and so far so good. |

Scheduled a service visit next Monday to 1) fix the bumpers (see another thread of mine), 2) fix the dash plastic pieces, and 3) even though I've not had the problem yet, have them do Service Bulletin 07-058 (where you can't open the gas cover - I imagine this being a problem at the WORST possible time - freezing cold, wet, and out of gas).
Didn't expect any of these kinds of problem with a $40K+ Acura (especially since I had been to the shop 4-5 times when I first bought the car because of stiff steering). |

| panels are not glued, they are popped in and usually held in with screws. |

They replaced the right dash piece, and although it is better than it was in the picss I posted, it is still not flush with the dash. At least I can't see the wires behind but I see the full width of the plastic piece. We checked 2-3 other cars on the lot and some had it worse.
The car was in the shop for a week (for the bumper repair I mentioned in another thread) so I'll wait for it to get worse again before we try again. Apparently, all the dealer can do is order the same part and hope for the best. There has been no modification of the part by Acura whatsoever in spite of the known problem. |
