Drove the tech loaner for 3 days now. I gotta said the 08 Tech is just as sporty as my 07 Sport. Couple of good thing I notice on my short trip from home to work:
1. No stereo pop, well yet.
2. Suspension is firm & sporty. Its just right. Softer then 07's Sport setting and firmer then 07's Comfort setting.
3. Rear view Camera start up in half of the time that takes my 07's camera to wake up.
4. No funny noise in front or rear suspension yet.
Its only got 2000 miles on it so its a bit dull on the performance department. Wind noise is still there just like my 07. Brake pedal feels better then my 07 or just like my 07 when new. Anyway. No regret. As long as they can get rid of that Pop noise at ignition start. I will be a happy man. |

I also noticed the rear view camera working faster in my 08 loaner. |

| Is the screen resolution for the rearview camera any better than on the 2007? I didn't realize how very bad it was until I got a 2008 Sienna to pick up comic book shipments for my store; there, you get a picture that you can actually recognize, with discernible details. It's an amazing difference, and it made me aware for the first time how very crude and low-res the camera on the Acura is. |

No change in the rearview camera department. Toyota does have a better Camera that perform better in low light condition. |

| I didn't drive the 07 or the 08 with sports package. To me, the ride of my 08 X is plenty firm and I wouldn't want it any stiffer. But it's just me. Last night I drove it on some hilly roads and I was impressed by its handling. |

As a German car Merc/Audi/VW lover and coming from a Touareg, I must say the ride and handling characteristics of the 08 MDX are very, very good.
I had written about my Christmas trip Dallas-Chicago and back in highly varying weather and road conditions. The MDX "beast" ran flawlessy over 2000 miles.
I have NO PROBS with the way it runs and handles - just the fit and finish, leaves a lot to be desired.
I am also Wowed by the Tech pkg the more I learn to use it. The DVD Audio is SUPER !
I NOW LOVE MY MDX !

Yeah, the interior materials could use some improvements. I was aware of that bebfore I bought it. I could feel it as soon as I touch the steeling wheel and the stalks, they just don't have the smooth feel of what's in the Lexus RX330 we are getting rid off.
But the driving, the handling, the transmission, and the feel of confidence just blow away the RX330. Believe or not, it's even quieter than the RX330. Our RX330 was not as quiet as what we would expect from a Lexus. |
