Has anyone installed the optional 19 inch wheels? If so, are you happy with the way they look and ride? What tires did you mount? Any change in the fuel economy?

Thanks,

I have the OEM 19s and very happy with it. It's made my X even more stable and flatter when cornering hard.

I mounted Michelin Latitude Tour HP (M+S and V-Rated) 275/45-19 tires.

I didn't notice much difference in fuel consumption when I switched from 18 to 19's.

Why would there be? The rolling diameter is the same.

Heavier wheels and;

wider tires = increased contact patch = more friction = increased fuel consumption

I have them as well and love'm. I do think my car pulls a bit, but I'm not sure if it is due to the great roads in NC. I plan on mentioning this to the serv. tech during my next maint. I used the OEM tire Michelin Diamaris.

Now what do I do w/ my sprt rims.

Sell them here as spares! I'd be interested in one for the right price.

You can count me in as well, should you go that route... They'll all sell in no time at all, trust me.

I've been down this rode before and it failed. I'm be willing to try again, but to make it worth my while I need at least 3 buyers. What is the going rate for 1 sport rim w/ a tire. :-)

I haven't been able to take pics because of the rain. I also went up to the snow twice within the last 4 weeks and the X is extra dirty. I also received my front garnish two weeks ago which I still haven't installed.

It's a three day weekend so I plan on installing the front garnish and get it washed. I'll take pics and post after.

I'm also looking for a Sport spare. How much shipped to Ohio 45503?

Thanks!

Hey techm8n,

How did the X handle in the snow with the 19's on it and is the ride a lot harsher than the 18's? I am considering purchasing these rims but wanted to see how they fair in the winter. I don't have the sports model sadly.

I've taken the X to the snow twice this winter season and it was snowing only once of the two. It performed well but I did hit some ice which activated the ABS.

I would recommend staying with 18's if you live in an area that snows during the winter season.

Since I live in SF Bay Area which doesn't see snow, other members here from the East coast can probably provide you better feedback regarding 19" wheels on the snow.

The 19's does have a stiffer ride but it's not that bad.
