| I'm not that crazy about the yellowish tint on the 07 HID low beam ~ Is there a way to change the bulb in the low beam to make it more white or blueish? Thanks. |

I believe you can.
The HID bulbs for the low beam, I believe the bulb size are D2S. Just do a google search for these HID bulbs size. You will find lots!
When I first got my 07 X, I did noticed the low beam was a bit yellowish, over time it did change - I do notice it's more white now.. I can't explain it..
These original HID bulb are 4300K, if you go for something more purple or blue, that is like something between 6000K-12000K. You have to be careful, the higher Kelvins the lower the life of the bulb and shorter beam patterns.. |

It always amazes me that folks will lower the output of their headlights just to get a different color. Max lumens occur around 4300K. The higher the color temp from there, the less lumens.
8000K? Can you say, "Rice!"
BTW-
As the HID capsule ages, it normally increases in color temp, slightly. |

I already have 19k on mine after 16 months and my HIDs are still quite yellowish! |

How are you looking at the your lights? Standing in front of your X?
From what I understand you get a different color at curtain angles. I believe this is due to the cutoff point of the beam (top line). If you point your low beam at a white background (garage door), look at the top where the beam starts - you will noticed a hint of purple/blue. If someone is driving toward you, they will see more of the cutoff color (purplish-blue). If they are close to you, they will see a more normal white-yellowish color.
There are ways to increase the cutoff point beam (widen), but that means you have to tweak around with your projected lens without blinding other drivers on the road. I have seem someone done this on their TSX and it looks goooood. Overall, the beam was more a purplish color (6000K).
One thing I do noticed, the RDX and the TSX stock HID has more of a purplish/blue color if compare to the newer MDX . I believe all Acura vehicles with HIDs are using the same BULB color (4300K). The question you probably asking, how come it has a different color?... Again, this could be what I mentioned above - cutoff beam widen.. .. my guess.. |
