Hi all, I own a 2004 mdx with ent package. love it all. But the dvd player. It does not play burned dvds (-/+) i tried al brands and + and - fromat. it palys a bit and freezes. Is there a way I can upgrade the firmware of the player? Or If I can replace the unit to an after-market dvd player? If I install after market player, how does that work with the voice control of navigation?

there is no way to upgrade the firmware to my knowledge. Also you would have no way to operate it via voice, you would need to retrofit the remote to work, and custom hack up the car to get the audio to work for the headsets.
What do you use to burn the disks? In my old 06, I used dvd shrink and it worked flawlessly. |

I also have a 2004 MDX, and was surprised to find out my burned dvd's didn't work.
I tried several brands of bland dvd and it worked with Memorex DVD-R.
Try them and let me know if it works. |

THanks for the reply guys,
Currently I am using verbatim and TDK blank disks. both DVD-R format. Burning with Nero 8. THe only thing i have to try is using the memorex DVD-R disk.
Or Ia m wondering, If the manufactorer has another model player i can replace this unit with? I am sure If the dvd player is broken or stolen, there would be a replacement model!!!!!!! ANythoughts? |
