2002 MDX. Battery completely dead (no nothing) one morning without any previous symptoms. Jumped it off, drove around, started up fine immediately after, but dead again after an hour of sitting. Bought new battery and after two days of driving it was completely dead one morning. Jumped new battery and took the car to mechanic. He couldn't get to it until a day later and then it started fine for him. Went back that evening to pick it up and completely dead--couldn't even unlock the door with the remote. He checked it out again and said he thinks he hears the AC clutch trying to click in when the car is off (and the batter is charged). Would a draw from the AC clutch drain a new battery fairly quickly if it were staying on for whatever reason? Anyone heard of similar problems? I know there are a couple of TSBs on battery drain but these don't seem applicable here. This is starting to look like a dealer issue, which ain't good historically.

| I've had a similar issue with my 95 Odyssey which was perplexing until my local dealer eventually diagnosed the AC fan switch controller (can't recall the exact part name) malfunctioning. Basically, it kept engaging even after the engine is off, continually draining the battery. |
