| New owner of a used '05 MDX with Nav. Was wondering if there is a way to sit in the car with the key in accessory or engine on position w/o the bright nav screen being on? In other words, is there any way to turn of the nav screen? |

| Yes, go into the menu screen - setup - there should be a submenu to turn off the display. If you leave it on without activating the screen, it will go into screensaver mode. The 07 does even better - as long as you don't use any functions related to the display, the screen turns off after a few minutes. |

| Does it just seem too bright at night time? Not sure on the 05 but on mine it has a auto/day/night setting to adjust the brightness. If set to day it will be too bright at night. |

I'll look for that sub menu button to turn it off.
I'm in sales and I frequently find myself sitting in the car making calls. I'd prefer not to attract too much attention sitting in a parking lot with the screen glowing, plus if I'm just taking a break and listening to music I'd rather not have the battery drain of the nav screen. Oh, I do have it on auto brightness, so it dims at night. |
