I tried to order an updated Navigation DVD from my Acura dealer, but he told me I had to order the DVD from Acuranavi.com. When I try to order from them I get the message:
"The fall 4.62 DVD release is currently available to dealers for 2008 vehicles only. Please call 888-291-4675 to order.
Orders only from dealers will be accepted at this time."
Does anyone know what the problem is or when Acuranavi will start accepting orders?
Thanks for your help!

I'd print the screen shot, and take it to the dealer's parts department. Have them order the new disk using the telephone number provided. |

What year MDX do you have?
I've heard rumors there have been some issues with the 4.62 version... |

Talk to the guys at Ray Laks who sponsor the board.. I bet they can get you one.
I just had to order one for a customer, same deal.. they couldn't order one from Alpine but we could. Apparently the new ones are in short supply or some other such silliness. |

| There was an issue with 4.62 that apparently affects some navi units and not others. Acura is not sure why, but in some cases it causes the navi system to just keep rebooting over and over again. So they stopped selling it to the end consumer until they can figure out the problem and release a fixed version. In the mean time, they are still selling it to dealers because as long as a dealer gets it and installs it, if it acts up right then and there they can remove it and re-install the old version with no inconvenience to the customer. However, if a customer installs a version and it causes the system to do the reboot loop, they'd have to go to a dealer because the end user cannot (easily) revert back to an older version of the software. |

| There you go. I thought I heard something along those lines. BillHeart, you haven't heard anything from the dealerside? That just goes to show the informed consumer can sometimes know more than the dealer. |

| Early 4.62 adopters (like myself) actually got a letter from Alpine Electronics advising of this problem, and gave instructions on what to do if you experience it. Luckily, my system is unaffected. |

Amen. I joined this Forum just to try to find a solution to this problem. I've been trying to buy an updated nav DVD for more than six months for my 2005MDX. Last year they told me to wait until January 08. Now they don't offer any information at all.
For $200, I don't want to buy an older version, but my current disk came with the car and there has been so much major roadwork and redesign in my area (Washington DC) that they system doesn't even know where I am half the time.
ANY advice as to how to shake loose a new DVD from the company would be great -- I can't think of another situation (except perhaps Microsoft Vista) in which a company has so botched what should be a simple update and taken sooooo long to get it right. |

Just want to share my experience. I've got a 2005 that came with version 4.14. I "aquired" a 4.62 version. Everything seemed to work correctly but upon startup it will enter the diag. screen and just wait. Although, everything passes, it just waits reading "detecting". I can hold down the three buttons and enter the service mode, then chose to exit diagnostics, and it will bring up the map and menus and work great. As soon as the car is turned off and back on, it's back to the "waiting diag. screen".
I've tried to revert to the 4.14 disk, but can't figure a way to do it. Any suggestions??? |

Try pressing the voice command rocker switch, say "blah blah blah", then move the rocker to the cancel position. If I remember correctly, it is wanting to test the microphone.

| I purchased a OEM 4.62 version off ebay the middle of December. I did not run into any problems installing. |
