| In October I had my windsheild replaced with an oem but now the auto wipe feature is not very sensitive. In the past it would wipe up to high speed when it was raining badly. Now it only seems to wipe at the lowest speed regardless of the rain speed or the setting. Adjusting the speed setting has little effect. It used to turn on when the slightest spritz hit the windsheild, now it turns on when it's coming down. If I press onto the black box behind the rearview mirror, it will turn on. I've taken the cover off and unplugged it but it but every thing looks fine. Has anyone run into this issue or can offer some words of wisdom? |

By the way, this is the 3rd windsheild on the car. The1st replacement was due to a freak accident with a wrench bouncing off something and landing onto my windsheild at the mechanics. They replaced it free with oem. The 2nd replacement which I now have was due to a rock while driving. Insurance paid for it by Florida law.
I just remebered this, so now I'm not sure if the system is nowworking correctly and was not before or it was working correctly before and is not now. Confused yet? |

Because you are confused by the history, I would suggest that you have the dealer check out the system. Depending upon what they find you will take the necessary action.

| Since I'm out of warranty and would only go to the dealer for warranty work, your answer was not what I was looking for. Thank you though. Anyone else hd their windsheild replaced and has had this issue? |

I can't say that I have had the same problem. I can say that I have had my windshield replaced, was concerned about having this problem, and did not.
I do remember, however, that the new windshield came with the mirror mount pre-installed. I would think this would have reduced much of the chance for the installer to screw the process up.
Since yours recognizes rain, but does not adjust for speed, perhaps there is some contaminant on the sensor? Maybe taking your mirror off, cleaning the sensor and reinstalling would help? |
